The next day, for practice, the results of the match were obvious on Toramaru, he was becoming much more assertive and was requesting the ball more, which everybody was pleased with.
Everyone seemed to be jelling together now except from Fudou, which was self-explanatory and Tobitaka, who still didn't seem to have a grasp on actually playing football and seemed to avoid interactions and group outings with the team.
Nevertheless, after practice, Hibiki asked Endou to go round the back of the Ramen shop and he found Tobitaka who was trying to kick the ball at a marked out target and Endou asked if he needed help.
Tobitaka declined the request and despite Endou's begging, he left, but they met again at the riverbank where they did simple passing, which allowed them to form a bond.
Endou was Tobitaka's first friend on the team.

"We should make some new hissatsu techniques." Kidou said, "I think that after the two games, everyone knows the level of the world and I think everyone is coming together well."
"So what did you have in mind?" James asked.
"Kazemaru, do you remember what you did in the selection match?"
"Uhhhh......"
"I remember." Tsunami said, "when you ran past me, I was blown away by fierce winds."
"If you could refine it, it could become a powerful hissatsu technique." Kidou said, "I've already spoken to Coach Kudou about it and he's given permission for you to train independently. I would also like Fubuki and Hijikata to learn a combination technqiue, I think Hijikata's power and Fubuki's speed would be a good mix."
"We should try one too Kabeyama!" Tsunami said.
"U-Us two?"
"Do you have a problem?"
"O-Of course not!"
"Then it's decided. Sounds good to you Kidou?"
"Yeah. Remember, if we want to have a hope of qualifying, we have to win." Kidou said as they all turned to the television screen with the standings, "as well as a bit of luck from other games."

Those who were learning new hissatsu techniques kept at it for the following days but after a while Coach Kudou wanted them to take a break from it and wanted to do a practice match.
A football came speeding towards Endou and he managed to stop it and a voice complimented him.
"Well done as always Endou."
"Desarm!" Endou smiled, delighted to see him once again.
"Desarm? Oh, no - I'm Saginuma Osamu now. The captain of Neo Japan."
