Japan lineup (4-3-3): Tachimukai. Fubuki, Hijikata, Kabeyama, Tobitaka. Midorikawa, James (C), Fudou. Saginuma, Gouenji, Someoka.
The captains of both teams did the coin toss and James won, deciding that the French can have kickoff first. Thierry put his foot on the ball as both teams got in position and when the whistle blew, he passed to Alex who burst into the half of the Japanese.
"Attacking us alone?" Fudou retorted.
James ran towards him and used "Refraction Prism" to get the ball back and gave the ball to Fudou. Fudou dribbled forwards though Thierry came and blocked him.
"I'm open Fudou!" Midorikawa said as he made a run to his left.
Fudou turned side-on to pass to Midorikawa giving Thierry the perfect opportunity to slide in and try to intercept the pass but Fudou smirked, "Got you."
He backheeled the ball and it went to James who was also making a run behind him and he played a first-time pass to Midorikawa. He used "Lightning Accel" to get past Laurent.
He then used "Astro Break" but Pierre and another teammate tried to block the shot with their body but were unable to. Ladji leaped towards the ball and jabbed it as a green stinger covered his hand and he was able to stop the shot, "Stinger"[2] to stop the shot.
"I thought that he would have improved." Fudou scoffed, "should have taken a shot myself."
"Coach Kudou wouldn't have brought him back if he didn't improve." James said, "anyway, it's not like you even have a hissatsu shot."
"Wanna bet?" Fudou asked with a smirk, the type of Fudou smirk that meant that James didn't know if he was joking or not.
"Just focus on the game Fudou."
Ladji kicked the ball out of his hands to Laurent and he attacked the Japan defence. James came towards him but he passed to Ronnie who then passed to Julien.
Julien passed to Thierry and Kabeyama came towards him and used "The Mountain" but Thierry jumped and stomped onto the ground, as he did, wind violently twirled around him and as he approached the mountain before him, the rocks broke apart and the mountain eventually crumbled, allowing Thierry to pass, "Wind Veil".
But after he passed the rocky structure, he didn't see Fubuki's sliding tackle which got the ball back for Japan.
Fubuki passed the ball to Fudou and Laurent came to stop him. James approached him and Fudou jumped into the air with the ball before kicking it down to James, who was also airborne, with his heel. James sliced the ball as it began to spin and it flashed before it was encased in a joker's box.
As James and Fudou descended, a joker appeared behind the box and pushed it towards Laurent. The box broke once it made contact with the ground and as it did, Laurent was blinded by a bright light and his feet were trapped by joker boxes, "Joker's Surprise".
The ball hit the ground and went to Saginuma who backheeled the ball to Fudou and James ran beside him, "Let's see this shot hissatsu then shall we?"
"Ha. You're not worthy enough to see it." Fudou smirked as he ran on ahead of James and as Kevin came towards him he passed to Saginuma a shining sword decked in gold appeared on his foot and he kicked the ball into the air with a dragon appearing too.
As Saginuma jumped towards the ball, the dragon flew towards the ball but Saginuma got there first and shot the ball with the soles of his feet. The ball took on golden energy and cut through the dragon which dissipated after, "Dragon Destroyer Gram!"[3]
