Let me tell you a story about a woman who fell into two crowds: the good and the bad.
Of course, there are pros and cons to each category, but I suppose it only depends on the way you look at it...

TW!: injuries, blood, mentions of murder, alcohol use

It had been nearly two days after Kam and Arthur went fishing, and there were finally bounties placed back on the board. During the two days of rest, Kam had actually gotten a lot done. She finally ordered that book she'd been dying to read, bought enough rations to last her a week, and even went hunting for deer pelts. Sheriff Gray said he had personally requested bounties from all over Lemoyne to New Hanover just so Dante had something to do in his spare time, Dante was very grateful for Leigh's efforts and thanked him. At the moment, Dante was searching for a man named Theodore Liptin, a murderer who poisoned the husbands of several women just to get into the sac. Dante called him a 'whore' immediately after he received the bounty.

Bluewater Marsh was the closest Kam ever wanted to get to Saint Denis. Dante, however, was a big city fanatic and loved the busy streets. So, even though part of the bounty hunter screamed 'no', Dante Beckett found himself circling Bluewater Marsh for that bounty. The poster was vague on details, barely mentioning which direction this god forsaken man was, so he searched North, South, East, and West along Lemoyne.

With her Lancaster Repeater in her right hand and Brutus' reins in her left, the two partners cautiously made their way along the muddy trails of the swamp. It was quiet. Too quiet. Brutus was tense, his head kept swaying back and forth while the occasional whine ripped through his thick esophagus. "I know boy, I don' like this either." she patted Brutus on the neck, being careful not to spook the Shire.

Eventually, after what seemed like hours of roaming around in a constant line, a campfire shone through the thick trees and dampness of the area. Kam pulled Brutus to the side of the road and told him to wait for her until she gets back. Brutus knew the drill quite well. He and Kam had been through it all before and would continue to go through everything together. They were all they had. As soon as her boots hit the ground with a splash, Kam made a strong mental note to be sure to order a bath once she got back to Rhodes.

She was quiet, breath slow and deep through her nose. Bounty Hunting was all about patience and stealth. One wrong move, or a twig snapping, and you could be on a wild goose chase all around the states. The sound of a strumming banjo became louder as Kam got closer, walking on her ankles to hide amongst the tall, green plants. Kam recognized the song almost immediately: Ring Dang Doo. The song revolved around a man who goes around the country meeting tons of women who break his heart daily. It was a catchy tune, sure, it just had a horrible message in terms of relationships. But what would Kam know about relationships? She had only been in one before and that had happened a long, long time ago.

As soon as Mr. Liptin was within shooting distance, Kam cocked her repeater, and aimed towards one of many small-time gang members. It was funny just how cocky smaller gangs had become over the past 20 years. If Kam had a dollar for every time some random bounty hunter or lawman or rival gang tried to get the best of her, she'd be richer than Leviticus Cornwall. With a steady hand, her trigger finger steady, and a closed eye, Kam took the shot. One man fell to the ground with a bullet in the back of his neck while a gunshot rang throughout the swamp; as soon as that bullet was fired, every man in that camp spiraled out of control and began to fire bullets right at the O'Driscoll.

Kam hid behind a thick tree as she reloaded, only peaking her head out of the trunk to fire her gun. Bullets screamed passed her ears like soaring eagles, each piece of ammunition coming a little too close for comfort. While the small gang talked big and threatened the bounty hunter to 'face them like a man', Kam stayed hidden and fired her gun until all men except for Thomas hit the ground. Once the gunfire ceased, Kam stepped out of her hiding place with her repeater locked and loaded.
