Let me tell you a story about a young woman who fell into two crowds: the good and the bad.
Of course, there are pros and cons to each category, but I suppose it only depends on the way you look at it...

TW!: guns, murder, blood, vomiting

------------------------------------------------------------

"Most towns just get bounty hunters to do their dirty work these days, but Sheriff Gray believes the Law should keep the law."
Dante cleared his throat roughly as he and Brutus rode closely behind the wagon, earning a sigh for Deputy McGregor.
"Yes Dante, you are the special case."
"The special case whom Sheriff Gray favors more."
"Are you ever going to let me live this down?"
"Probably not."

He sighed again and continued giving Arthur a review of his 'duties as a deputy' and a speech that entailed 'me and Dante are in charge'. Dante tuned their conversation out for the most part and kept himself occupied by cleaning his guns while riding Brutus. If they were about to go shoot up some moonshining buffoons, then his guns sure as shit better be clean. It's been a while since Kam had dealt with the families in Lemoyne, but she knew them quite well. There were two families in Rhodes that ruled everything they touched: the Gray's and the Braithwaite's.

Now, the Gray's? She had no problems with them. Hell, she's never been associated with the Gray's until she put on the persona of 'Dante' and started working as a deputy. But the Braithwaite's? She's had one too many encounters with them as Kam O'Driscoll. They knew her name, knew her face, knew her bounty. She and Catherine don't have the best relationship when it came down to it. Kam's killed one too many of her employees and has sabotaged one too many operations. Part of Kam hoped she'd never hear the name 'Braithwaite' ever again. Too late now.

After a couple minutes of riding, Archibald stopped the wagon in the middle of the road. "See that wagon?" he called out. Dante pulled Brutus off to the side of the road, stopping in the grass, and hopped off the stallion's back. He kept his guard up as he walked towards a destroyed wagon, reared off to the side of the road.

"We got bodies, Archibald." he said, clenching his throat to deepen his voice slightly.

"Suit and tie... clean bullet through the forehead... my money's on the Lemoyne Raiders." The Lemoyne Raiders had been a pain in Kam's side for longer than she could remember- or at least, whenever she was in Lemoyne, that is. Dante stood back up from the body, covering his nose from the stench of death, and pleaded that his body wouldn't retaliate on him and spew everything overboard.

"We should get goin'. I'll send someone over here later to clean this up." Archibald seemed extremely eager to leave the crime scene.

Dante strutted back over to Brutus, pulling himself up by the saddle horn, and pulled out another gun to clean. Brutus kept an easy pace, trotting right behind the wagon in smooth movements. Archibald kept talking about the Braithwaite's and his own family like he was some self-absorbed lunatic. It was driving Dante crazy.

Luckily, Dante didn't have to endure Archibald's talk for long. The wagon pulled off to the side of the road once again, taking the deputy and deputies-in-training with it. Dante took two handguns and his Lancaster Repeater with him, but not before equipping his belt with 2 homemade bombs on each side. "Now, anyone we find here, we bring in alive, understand?" Archibald confirmed. Dante's silence struck him with anxiety.

"Dante? Are you listening? No one needs to die."
"I won' kill no one... s'long as they don' shoot first." he responded with sarcasm and quicky dropped to his ankles. Dante took the lead as he walked slowly on his feet just as he had three or four days ago with Theodore Liptin.
