Why would I say that? (Mattheo's POV)

When I woke up, Y/N was still sleeping. I got ready for the day and grabbed a book to read, while I waited for her to wake up. I just want us to be okay and I need to talk to her about last night. I had just read 5 pages, when she woke up. 'Goodmorning Y/N. How are you doing?' 'I'm fine.' I could hear in her voice, that she wasn't fine. She never says she's fine, except for when she's mad. 'Y/N, what's wrong? You only say you're fine, when you're really not fine. So, please talk to me.' 'There's nothing I want to talk about.' Does she not want to talk in general or just not to me. Either way, it hurts me to see her like this. 'Can you please tell me what I did wrong?' 'You didn't do anything wrong Mattheo.' 'Then why are you mad? Is this about Daphne?' It has to be about Daphne. Draco said that Y/N was tired of seeing me with Daphne, so it has to be about Daphne, right? 'It's nothing Mattheo. And why would it be about Daphne? It's nothing new that you make out with a random slut, to than be done with her the moment your lips part.' Did she just say that? I have never heard her say anything like that. And did she just call me out on making out with a couple girls? 'Okay, damn. Fuck you, Y/N.' I regretted it the moment I said it, but she made me so angry with what she said, that I said it before I realised what I said. But, I can't take it back. I said it already. She regretted what she said as well, because directly after I said, what I said, she said: 'I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. It just... Well nevermind.' I wanted to apologize as well, but I have to know what made her say it. 'It just what Y/n?!' I yelled it a little, without noticing. 'It's nothing, please leave it. I'm sorry for what I said. Can we please forget this?' I wanted to just forget this. I don't want to be mad at her, but the fact that she couldn't even tell me why she said what she said, made me even angrier. But she apologized, so I just said: 'Sure, I have to go. I'll see you later.' And with that I walked out. I needed some space, before I said more things I couldn't take back. 

When I left the room I just went outside for a quick breath of air, before I went to the great hall for breakfast. Draco, Theo and Pansy were already there, so I just sat down and started talking to them. After a couple minutes Y/N walked in and sat across from me. I didn't know what to say to her, so I just kept on talking with Draco and Pansy, when Theo asked her what was wrong. She hadn't touched her food at all eventhough it was her absolute favourite, french toast. You could see our argument was bothering her. All I wanted to do was apologize and tell her that everything is forgiven and forgotten, but I didn't say that. I just glanced quickly at her. She looked up at me for a second, before looking back at her plate and answering Theo by saying that everything was alright. All three of us knew nothing was alright, but only Theo said anything. He said that everything wasn't alright and how even he noticed that she didn't touch her french toast, which had never happened as long as Theo and I had known her. Y/N and I glanced one more time at eachother, before she said that she was okay and got up and left the great hall, without having taken one bite of her food. 

All I wanted to do, was run after her, but Hermione beat me to it. She went after Y/N without even knowing what was wrong. What was she going to do about it?! I needed to be there for Y/N. I needed to make sure that she was alright. But, I didn't. 
As I watched them both walk away, Theo kicked my leg. I looked at him angrily and before I could even ask him why he kicked me, he started to slightly yell at me: 'What the hell did you do to Y/N?!' 'What do you mean?! Why would I have done something?!' 'I saw how you two looked at eachother. You didn't even say a word to her the moment she sat down at our table and you didn't say anything to her about not eating her french toast, when I know you noticed, that she didn't even touch them. So, what did you say or do to her.' 'We...I...We argued this morning.' 'Why?! You never argue, so what was it about?' 'About last night.' 'What about last night, Mattheo?!' 'Last night I made out with Daphne. I didn't think and I had drank a bit too much. But, the moment I realised what I was doing, I stopped and went looking for Y/N. I saw her dancing with Draco, so I just left her. After a while she was just gone so I went to Draco and I asked him where she went. He told me she went to bed and that she was tired of seeing me with Daphne. I knew I had fucked up, so I wanted to talk to her about it this morning. But she didn't want me tell me what was wrong. The moment I brought up Daphne, she got mad and told me it was nothing new, that I make out with sluts and dump them directly afterwards. I got mad and told her to fuck herself. She apologized and asked to forget about is. And I said okay and just walked away after it.' 'Geez Mattheo. Why the fuck would you tell her to go fuck herself?!!' 'She just got me so angry with what she said. I didn't realise I had said it, until after I had already said it. And I hate myself for it.' 'You should.' 'I just want to take it back Theo. I just want to make her feel alright and to give her a hug.' 'Then talk to her Mattheo.' 'I can't.' 'Why not?' 'I'm scared I'll say more stuff that'll ruin everything with her.' 'She's your best friend Mattheo, she doesn't scare away that easily. You know who her family is and you know what your father did to her family. Eventhough she knew all of that about your father and nothing about you, she still choose to give you a chance. She chose you to be best friends with and she will not just choose to drop you after you got mad at her once. Okay? So, just talk to her and be honest about how what she said made you feel.' 'Okay. Thanks Theo.' 'Anytime mate.'
