Day of the date (Mattheo's POV)

My classes were finished for the day, so I was on my way back to my dormroom. When I walked into the room I saw Y/N getting ready. She looked amazing and I know who it would be for, but still I asked: 'Why are you dressed so nice?' I wish she would've told me it was for me and that she wouldn't go on a date with Draco, but sadly she said: 'I'm about to go on my date with Draco.' 'Oh, yeah, right.' I really didn't know what to say, without cursing, so I just said those three words. 'When are you leaving?' I asked her, hoping she would stay a little longer. 'In about half an hour, why so?' That's way too soon and I really don't have an answer to her question, so I had to think of something. Wait, I just finished Romeo and Juliet and she knew that it would end the way it did, so I'll just talk about that. 'Because, you have some explaining to do.' I said it with just enough anger in my voice to let her think I was angry, when really I just hated how the book ended and found it funny how she tried to protect me from finding out the end without finishing the book. 'What do you mean?' I have her exactly where I want her. She's just a bit nervous. 'Why the hell didn't you tell me that Romeo and Juliet ends in a double suicide?!' She just started laughing. I just love that laugh so much! I'm happy that I'm the reason she is laughing, eventhough she is going to Draco after this. 'I'm sorry Mattheo hahahaha. I just didn't want to spoil the book for you.' 'I was rooting for them! Why did they just killl themselves in the end?!' I really was rooting for them, but I understood why Romeo and Juliet did what they did. I think it's nice to think about loving someone so much, you would sacrifice yourself for them. I would do that for her. It was like she read my mind, because she told me thought it was a beautiful sentiment as well, to die for the one you love. I asked her if she would do it, if she needed to. She told me: 'Yeah, I think I would, for the right person. I've always been scared to die, but if it could save the person I love most, than I would do that.' I never knew she was scared to die and I love the way she would face her biggest fear, to save someone she loves. That just shows how much she cares for others and what an incredible person she is. 

Before I knew it, our conversation was interrupted by knocking on the door. I went to open it and I saw Draco. I almost forgot about their date, but they didn't. I looked at him with my eyes filled with anger, but I promised her. I promised her I wouldn't interfer, so I just stepped aside to let her go. I said goodbye to her hoping one last time she wouldn't go, but she did. 

I waited a couple minutes before leaving as well. I went to the top of the Astronomy Tower. I just had to get some fresh air and some quietness. Y/N would aways go to the lake for her peace and quiet, but the Astronomy Tower was my place. I think something about the height made it even more peaceful. When I got to the top, I sat down and just started staring at the sky while slowing down my breathing. 

After about half an hour, I went back to my dormroom when Theo saw me walk past him. He saw that something was wrong, because he immediately got up and followed me to my room. He walked in after me and closed the door. 'What's up Mattheo?' he asked me. 'She is gone.' 'What do you mean?' 'She is on her date with HIM.' 'She's with Draco right now?' 'Yeah!' 'Do you know where they went?' 'They're at the Three Broomsticks. I read his mind when he came to pick her up.' 'That's a public place Mattheo. She's going to be fine.' 'I know she will be, because if she isn't, he's dead.' 'I know.' 'I just hate this Theo. I hate that's she's out with him eventhough I told her I don't trust him and eventhough she knows I hate her going out with him.' 'Yeah well Mattheo, how many times have you made out with girls in the same room as Y/N when you know she hated that.' 'At first she didn't mind and when I started to notice, she got irritated by it, I tried to lessen the amount of times.' 'Yes, but it still happened.' 'You know what? You did just give me a great idea.' 'What do you mean Mattheo?' 'If she's going to date someone I hate, than I can do the same. And you know what, maybe it will help get her out of my head as well.' 'So, just because she hurt your little ego, you're going to make her mad again.' 'She won't have a legitimate reason to be mad at me Theo and I can do whatever I want. So, first thing tomorrow, I'm going to ask out Daphne Greengrass.' 'You're seriously going to ask out the girl that made you and Y/N fight for the first time ever at the beginning of the year?' 'Yeah, I am.' 

Before Theo could argue with me, the door opened and Y/N walked in. She looked happy, I hated it. 'Hi boys', she said. We imediately stopped talking and Theo got up. He asked her how the date went and she told him she had fun. Theo told her he was happy for her, but I was just angry that she had fun with Draco. I think she noticed that I was angry, because she started looking at me. I quickly turned my frown into a smile as to let her think I was happy for her as well. She apparently didn't want to talk about her date with me, thank god!, because she asked if I was feeling a little better about Romeo and Juliet's ending. I completely forgot about it, but I still hated that they didn't end up together, so I told her that. I also started reading another muggle book called The Fault in Our Stars, so I told her I hoped that that one will end better. She told me she hoped that as well, but she had a cunning smile on her face, letting me know that it will probably be just as terrible as Romeo and Juliet or maybe even worse. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
