Just go

After our talk in the bathroom last night, Mattheo and I went back into our room. We sat down on his bed I just curled up against him, while he held me. I was so exhausted from the whole situation with Draco, that soon enough I fell asleep against Mattheo. During the night I woke up and I saw that we were still cuddling and Mattheo had also fallen asleep. I felt like everything belonged and with that I fell asleep again. 
But, when I woke up this morning I was alone in Mattheo's bed. He was gone. But, before I could start to worry about where he was, he walked in and sat down next to me again. I hugged him and he gave me a kiss on the top of my head. 'Where were you?' I asked him. 'I just had to arrange some things for this afternoon.' 'What's this afternoon?' 'A surprise. So, be ready to leave at 4 o'clock.' 'Okay.' I said with a smile. 

We cuddled for 5 more minutes, before it was really time to get out bed and get ready for breakfast. I took a quick shower and when I walked back into the room, Mattheo was on his bed reading another book. This time it was 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them' by Newt Scamander. 'No more muggle books I see?' I asked him. 'No, after being betrayed by both Romeo & Juliet and the Fault in Our Stars, I don't want to anymore.' 'You know there are a lot of books with happy endings as well right?' 'No, I don't think there are any Y/N.' 'I'll find some for you, Mattheo.' 'Good luck with that.' I let out a small laugh and finished getting ready. When I turned around, Mattheo asked me: 'Ready, Love?' And just like at the beginning of the year, my heart melt. 'Yes, all done.' 

We walked over to the Great Hall to get some breakfast before class. I sat down and Mattheo told me he would be right back. He walked over to Pansy and talked to her for a little bit. While they were talking I heard some shocked noises coming from the front of the Great Hall. When I turned around, I saw Draco limping with multiple bruises on his face towards me. He was walking towards ME. I don't know what was going to happen in the next couple seconds, but I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. I looked over at Mattheo, but he was still busy talking to Pansy and didn't notice what was going to happen. 
I turned my head back to my food hoping that Draco would just walk the other way instead, but he stopped behind me and started talking to me. 'Y/N, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday.' I didn't react. I didn't want to talk to him. I didn't want to listen to his weak excuses of cheating on me. And because I wasn't reacting he put his hand on my shoulder to turn me around. Bad choice. Draco's hand was ripped off of my shoulder by Mattheo. 'DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TOUCH HER!' Mattheo started yelling at Draco. I had turned around and saw how Mattheo was ready to punch Draco again. I stepped in front of him and asked him not to. 'Please Mattheo, don't do this.' 'WHY NOT?! HE SHOULDN'T FUCKING TOUCH YOU AFTER WHAT HE DID!' 'I know Mattheo, but he already got what he deserved.' 'Yeah, listen to your little girlfriend Mattheo.' Draco tried to hit a nerve with Mattheo, but he hit a nerve with me as well. 'Just shut up Draco. You fucked up and I don't want to listen to your weak ass appology, but I am trying to make sure you don't end up even worse than you already are. So, if you want to say another word to either me or Mattheo, go ahead. But, I'm not stopping him anymore.' He kept quiet. 'I thought so.' I said. 'Now, just go and leave us alone.' And with that Draco left. I looked at Mattheo and some of the emotions from yesterday came back. I started to get teary-eyed, but Mattheo took me in his arms and made sure the tears were gone, before they could fall. He gave me a small kiss on the top of my head and we sat down.
I still hadn't eaten anything, so I grabbed a piece of french toast and enjoyed it as much as I could after everything. Mattheo and I were sitting opposite Pansy and Theo. Theo heard from Mattheo what happened, so he asked me if I was okay. I looked at Mattheo and just said: 'Yeah, I am.' I grabbed Mattheo's hand under the table and we both just smiled at eachother. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a smile creep up on Pansy and Theo's faces as well. They told us that it took us long enough, but they were happy that we finally realised, that we liked eachother. 

After breakfast Mattheo and I went to our classes for the day and afterwards we went back to our dormroom together. He told me he had to finish the last things for my surprise and that I needed to get ready. 'I'm back at 4 o'clock and then we're leaving. Put on something you feel comfortable in. We're going outside, so don't dress to cold.' And with that he left. I had half an hour to get ready, so I put on some dark blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket. I put my hair in a high-ponytail with some front-pieces left out. I just finished, when exactly at 4 o'clock someone knocked on the door. I opened the door and I saw Mattheo standing there with some beautiful dark-green roses. He handed them to me and gave me a kiss. He told me to put the flowers on the table in our room, so we could go. I had no idea where we were going, but I knew it would be amazing, because I was with him. 

We went outside the castle and down the pathway towards the lake. Down at the lake was this beautiful picnic set up. On the ground lay a big blanket, around it were some rose petals and on top was a picnicbasket filled with my favourite snacks. It was amazing. Mattheo led me down to the blanket and we sat down. 'Do you like it?' He asked. 'Do I like it? No, I don't like it. I love it. This is amazing Mattheo.' 'I'm glad you love it.' He smiled at me and all I could think about was kissing him and so I did. It was absolutely perfect. 
While we started eating some of the snacks, I asked him how he did all of this. 'I had some help.' 'From who?' 'Well, Theo and Pansy helped me set up today. That was why I was talking to Pansy this morning. She told me what still needed to be done. And Hermione and Harry helped me pick out your favourite snacks. I ofcourse knew most of them already, but I could never have guessed that donuts were a favourite from the muggle world.' 'Wait you got donuts?!' 'Yeah I did. There on the right side of the basket.' 'I love this all so much Mattheo.' 'I love you so much Y/N.' I immediately looked up at him after he said that. He just told me he loves me! 'I love you so much too Mattheo.' He kissed me once more. 

After talking what felt like only minutes, but were really hours, the sun started to set. I cuddled up against Mattheo and watched the beautiful view, knowing that no other date will ever be as perfect as this one. When the sun had completely set, we packed the basket back up and we started walking back to the castle. I thought I had dressed warm enough for tonight, but I started to get a little cold. Mattheo went to grab my hand and apparently felt that it was quite cold, because he took of his jacket and put it around my shoulders. And instantly I warmed up a bit on the inside. 

When we got to the entrance of the castle Mattheo stopped walking. 'What's wrong Mattheo?' I asked. 'I just wanted to ask you something.' 'What do you want to ask me?' 'Do...do you...' 'Did I just make the tough Mattheo Riddle stutter?' I let out a little laugh. 'Don't laugh at me. He said with a smile on his face. 'I'm sorry. What did you want to ask me?' 'Do you want to be my...uhh...girlfriend?' 'Ofcourse I would.' We kissed once more, just before entering the castle again. 

When we got back to the Slytherin commonroom, Mattheo went to clean up the basket and put the roses, that he gave me earlier, in some water. I sat down next to Pansy and Theo, who immediately asked how the surprise date was. 'It was amazing! We talked for hours, he had my absolute favourite snacks and we watched the sunset. And after all of that we walked back to the castle, he gave me his jacket and he officially asked me to be his girlfriend.' 'Oh my god, what did you say?' Pansy asked. 'Well she obviously said no. Who would want to be together with Mattheo?' Theo joked, while Mattheo walked over to the couch. 'Yeah, I'm no good for anyone, so why would she say yes. You know she hates me right?' Mattheo chimed in while sitting down next to me and putting his arm around me. 'You didn't really say no right?' Pansy asked me with a slight worry in her voice. 'Sometimes I forget how gullible you can be Pansy.' Theo said. 'No, Pansy. Ofcourse I didn't say no. Mattheo is amazing to me and I can't imagine being with anyone else ever again. He is the person I've loved for the longest time and I can finally tell him that.' I turned around my head and looked at him lovingly. He gave me a quick peck on the lips before telling me he loved me back.
While he said that and was about to give me another kiss, Draco walked into the commonroom. He looked at us, but didn't say anything. He just walked away quickly into his own room. We all looked as he walked away and then just started talking some more about our amazing date. 

After a little while, I started to slowly fall asleep against Mattheo. He lifted me up in his arms, said goodnight to Theo and Pansy and brought me back to my own bed. He was about to walk over to his own bed, not wanting to wake me up, but I pulled him back by his arm. 'Please stay.' I said to him. He crawled into bed with me and we cuddled until we both fell asleep. This was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
