Chapter 1 - A Level Below Peaceful for Demigods

Percy's P.O.V

You know the saying " life isn't perfect?"  Well for me, I don't even know what the word means. Does it even exist in the life of a demigod?

" LEO GET YOUR FLIPPING BUT OVER HERE SO I CAN SEND YOU BACK TO YOUR DEMISE!!!"  Barged my dark cousin Nico a few yards to my left.

It was the middle of the day, nothing planned for the day and I was just sitting enjoying my lunch. The sight I'm forced to watch is a terrified Leo running for his life, hair on fire as a night colored hair Italian boy chases him across the way.

" WORTH IT!!! WORTH IT!!!" Proclaimed the repair boy.

I quickly pull myself away from my use to be satisfying meal and tried to figure out what the heck is happening. By the time I round the corner, Nico already has his hands clutching his suspenders as he violently shakes him back and forth.

I quickly put myself between the two " ok, ok! What is happening here?" I ask.

" Flame boy over here doesn't know when to keep his nose out of relationships, you third wheeling king!" Yelled Nico as he gripped my shirt and drug me to his cabin, Leo in foot.

There, he revealed that Leo had made his cabin ' prepped for Pride month.' His door was painted as the pride flag both on the front and back, and his once pure black pillows stamped with the bold words PRIDE in a rainbow fashion.

I had to choke back a laugh.

" I mean.... He's not wrong?" I say, hoping to find even ground between the two.

" well I think it suit you Nico. It's a nice change from all the dark emo theme." Pipes in a voice, behind us is the sunshine himself and Nico's boyfriend, Will Solace. The two have become close really fast, becoming nearly inseparable since the destruction of Gaea. The Italian boy's pale cheeks burn with a pink flush.

" seriously?" Asked Nico in disbelief, twisting his face to match his emotion.

" yeah you should be proud of who you are. I think I did you a favor." Adds in Leo with a smirk. All I can do is nod my head, fighting my own smile.

" what?- you?-.... Ughhh!!" Groans Nico as he storms into his cabin with Will laughing behind him and slams the door on us ending the moment. I go back to my lunch, enjoying the now peaceful setting.

" hey perce." Greets a casual voice, but the person belonging to the voice sparks a joyful light deep inside me. Annabeth Chase, the person I love most slides next to me on the bench with her salad.

" hey, what's up?" I ask, scooting a little closer to her.

" I've been keeping myself busy with designing, not a lot has been happening. Probably why Leo, the Stoll brothers and a few other members of the Seven have been causing so much mischief. I saw what happened a few minutes ago."

" I was thinking the same thing, why isn't there-" she clamps her hand over my mouth.

" don't, just don't. Knowing you, you'll jinx it." She orders, lowering her hand. I give her my playful smirk.

" you have a point. " I chuckle, laying my hand on hers. I could detect the uneasiness in her voice and I don't blame her.

For six years, we have fought monsters, gods, titans, giants, primordials and so many other supernatural beings I've lost count. It's only once in a blue moon that we get a moment so blissful, so quiet.

With that in mind, I grip her hand " in that case...."

" what the?- hey!"

Excitedly, I tug her towards the beach, making sure no one else was watching us. As soon as the tide is in range, I toss us into the shallow end, soaking her.

" Percy! Gah!" She exclaimed as I attacked her with a small wave. She quickly caught on and splashed water onto me. As a son of Poseidon, I can decide if I wanted to stay dry or not, and today was not one of those days.

My hair was plastered in all different angles as we continued to soak each other, laughing and smiling for hours.

Soon, she made a bit of a sneak attack knocking out my legs. As I collapsed to the ground, Annabeth pinned her forearm to my throat.

" well this feels familiar." I joke, motioning to the fighting stance she was in when we reunited in New Rome. That earned a small breathless laugh and a faint blush.

The sun was setting, giving everything a glowing outline. The sky behind her and the yellow-ish orange glow around her golden curls made her nook magnificent.

Without thinking, we slowly leaned towards each other. Just a couple centimeters apart, her warm breath on my face.

But as the fates would have it, the horn for dinner bellowed, calling us in. The moment between us melted away as Annabeth helped me up.

" see you at dinner Seaweed Brain." She said, jogging off to join the rest off the campers.

I watched her go a little further distance then turned my attention onto the ocean horizon, allowing myself to think for a moment.

If life was just as perfect as it is now, I wonder how great it's going to be in New Rome together.

With that in mind, I turned back to the pavilion and made my way to dinner.

My gods..... wow ok.

This the very first time I have ever wrote a chapter for Percy Jackson. I feel very nervous.

Does this justify?

Will future readers like it?

To my older followers who I said I would post in March, sorry I got a bit ambitious.
