------------

Dating your boss probably wasn't the best idea but you couldn't help being totally in love. He was perfect, the dark hair, the beautiful face, the strong build and the way he smiled?! God, you were smitten. Completely.

In the beginning, it was just casual sex but it grew more and more and more until eventually, it got to where you were now. You were living together with Jack and it was the most perfect thing you could imagine.

It was a normal morning. So you thought. A wave of sickness flew over you. You ran to the bathroom, emptying the contents of your stomach. "Ah shit." You murmured to yourself, getting up and brushing your teeth.

When you entered the bedroom again, you were met with Hotch just getting out of bed. "Where were you?" he asks. Usually, he was awake before you.
"Just in the bathroom. Don't worry about it." You say, walking over to the wardrobe.
"You look pale." He says.
"Aaron, please, stop profiling me at 6:15 in the morning."
"Not until you tell me what's going on."
"I threw up. No big deal. I'm fine."
"Y/n, that is a big deal. You're obviously not okay."
"Trust me, I'm fine." You say, taking out a blue blouse and hooking it on the door.
"Y/n."
"Aaron, just, please. I'm fine. I'm off to work."

Aaron wasn't one to give up easily but he knew arguing with you wouldn't end the way he wanted. "Right. Fine. But if you feel any worse you come home."
"Yeah, yeah." You say, beginning to get dressed, him doing the same.

-

"Jack, come on, we don't want you late for school." Says Aaron, walking into Jack's room. His tongue clicks as he places the coffee filled mug on the bedside table, "Why aren't you dressed yet."
"Sorry daddy." Says Jack, beginning to get dressed.

You pack up Jack's lunch and his bag ready for school while grabbing everyone's coats and the keys to the car. A slightly dishevelled Jack exits his bedroom running to put his shoes on, "Could you please tie my shoes?"
You bend down and tie them, open his coat for him to get into and place his bag on his back, "There we go." you say, "Aaron," you shout after him.
"Yep, yeah." He gets out the door, locking it and the three of you get into the car.

10 short minutes later and you're pulling up at school, "Have a good day Jack." Says Aaron.
"Bye," Jack says to the both of you.
"Close your door proper-ly." You trail off, unbuckling your seat belt and slightly climbing in the back to close the door properly. "Alright, now we can go to work." You say rebuckling your belt.

-

Walking into the BAU, you place your bag down and head over to Reid's desk. "Morning," he says.
"Mor- eugh, what is that smell?"
"Uh, peppermint?"
"It stinks."
"You love the smell of peppermint."
"Well, not today."
He makes a face as if to say, 'uh- ok' before opening a book on his desk to show you. "So you know how she dies at the end?"
"Yeah? Saddest death in all book history."
"Well, she's not actually dead."
"What?!" You say baffled, "How?"
"See," he starts.

-

"Now my little crime-fighting bursts of sunshine, I do have a bad one for you today. Home-based as well." begins Garcia, "8 victims so far."
"Why weren't we called in sooner?" asks Hotch.
"They couldn't connect the cases until this morning."
"And what was the connector?" asks Morgan.
"This is going to get ugly. A triangle was cut out of between the big toe and the one next to it."

As Garcia was talking, you couldn't help but feel like you were about to throw up. Aaron had to have caught on as he followed you to the bathroom after the case presentation. He waited for you to come out before pulling you in a hug.

You melted into the hug, relaxing in his warm embrace. "I'm sending you home."
"Aaron, I'm fine." You argue.
"Honey, you've just thrown up at work."
"Shh shh shh," you say, "you're so loud."
"Another reason why you should go home." He says, his tone becoming softer and more comforting. A silence held between you both before you groan softly. "Fine, I'll go home. You've got to fill me in on the case though."
"That's a no. You've got to get yourself better."
"Fine. Fine. Fine. I'll pick up Jack from school later."
"That's the only thing I'm letting you do."
"Okay." You say, smiling.

It had been a few weeks and nothing had improved. You were still getting sick every day and now the team kept teasing you about being pregnant. The funny thing was that you were starting to believe it. Even Aaron was and he was a hard person to convince.

You had been sent home, yet again, but this time by Strauss. There was no point arguing with her.

Instead of going straight home, you go to the drug store to pick up a test. You needed to know so you could carry on working. You needed to know so you could keep your mind at peace.

"Pregnant are we, hun?" Says the cashier. "Hopefully not," you say.
"Kids are great."
"I know. My boyfriend's a dad."
"Well, then he knows what he's doing then."
You smile and nod at their remark, "He sure does. Thank you."

-

"Hi y/n." Says Jack as you walk in the door.
"Hi, buddy."
"Where's daddy?"
"He's still at work. He'll be back in a few hours."
"Oh okay." He says, running off.

After sending the babysitter home and getting Jack settled into watching his show, you head into the bathroom. "Okay. Breathe. It doesn't matter if this comes out positive. It'll be fine. Super great. Yeah. Totally."

The three minutes pass while you sit and wait. "Y/n!"
"What's up, Jack?"
"I spilt water on the floor."
"Alright, I'll be there in a second." You say, placing the test in a drawer and heading out into the main room.
"What happened?" You ask, starting to clean up the water.
"I dropped it." He says looking down, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Just be careful next time, okay?" You say as he nods.
"I'll be careful next time.:

-

"I'm home." Calls Aaron as he closes the door. Jack jumps from your hug running off to the door, "Daddy!" He screams. Aaron picks him up hugging him.
"Hi, Jack. How was your day?"
"Good. I got to read a Roald Dahl book."
"Wow." Says Aaron, putting him down and walking further inside. You stand up off the couch and walk over to him, hugging him. "Did you close the case?" You ask.
"Yeah. Luckily." He says.
You smile and Jack comes between you both. "Can I have ice cream please Daddy?"
"Go on then. But then it's bath and bed."
Jack starts dancing around and he runs into the kitchen. "He's a good kid." You say to Aaron.
"He is." He says, looking at him.

-

Later that night, Aaron is giving Jack a bath while you look over an old case file in the bedroom.

Hotch fumbles around in a drawer looking for one of Jack's washcloths. However, he struggles to find it. "Where's your washcloth Jack?"
"Uhmm top right drawer?"
He goes into the top right drawer and finds the washcloth along with the pregnancy test. His brows furrow but he finishes Jack's bath and gets him into bed before heading back to the bathroom.

He picks up the test and flips it over to read the result, positive. "What?" He whispers, placing his hand over his mouth and walking into the bedroom. "Hi, d-" You begin.
"Did you know about this?" He says holding up the test.
"What do you me- oh that thing. I forgot I'd taken that."
"You knew you were pregnant and you didn't tell me?!"
"Aaron."
"I mean to not tell your boyfriend let alone your boss that you're carrying his baby."
"Aaron. I took it and didn't look at it. I didn't know I was pregnant. Not until now you've told me." Your eyes grow wide, "I'm pregnant." You stand up and put the case file down.
"So you didn't know?"
"No," you say, walking over to him and taking his other hand.
"We're really having a baby?" You ask.
"By the looks of this," he says showing you the test and hugging you around the shoulder, "yes."

You look up into his eyes, kissing him softly. "I swear, it was an accident," you say, "but I am not mad about it."
He laughs a bit and hugs you, "I love you."
"I love you too." You say.
