Jack and the others run into the room where Severin is being kept. His wound has been treated, and he's laying on a bed, asleep. The doctor stands from where he's sitting, and walks over to them. "How is he, doc?" Jack asks.
"He'll survive. Though he was severely wounded and lost a lot of blood." The doctor says, "I heard about that fight going on. For someone to have nearly killed Severin Brooke, they must've been dangerous."
"They were." Jack says, "But he's been beaten. It was hard fought though."
"I see. Well, at least the person who attacked got what they were owed." The doctor says. He looks back at Severin. "Now, I must ask you to vacate the room. Brooke needs rest. But rest assured, he'll live."
"Okay. Thank you, doc." Jack says. He then turns towards the others. "We should go speak to my father. The royal guards have probably told him what transpired. And he's probably freaking out."
"Right. I know I would." Ethan says. They exit and walk back through the city and across the bridge where the battle took place. They then enter the castle and the four walk up the stairs, entering the throne room where his father sits with a concerned expression. The king notices them entering.
"My son! My dear son!" He says excitedly as he stands and walks down the steps from his throne. He hugs Jack.
"Hi, father. Good to see you." Jack says. Their hug releases and he looks at his fathers teary eyed face.
"I had heard of the altercation you had with a mad man just outside the castle." The king says, "And I was so worried about losing you."
"I understand, father. But I'm alive. I survived, and the person who attacked lost an arm." Jack says.
"Was he captured for his crimes?" The king asks.
"Unfortunately not." Jack says, "He got away."
"And how did he manage that with a single arm?" The king asks.
"There was something Madelyn wanted me to explain to her. And I think it'll help you better understand the answer I have to your question." Jack says, "It's a lot." Jack then goes on to once again explain every single detail. "And then Ruin had shown up here, tried to deliver his 'justice', nearly killed Severin, as well as me and Ethan, and then I achieved my Arch state, and blew him to kingdom come, which caused him to lose an arm, and retreat, leaving our universe." Jack says as he finishes up.
"Wow." Madelyn says, "That is a lot."
"I told you it would be." Jack says.
"Why did you lie to me about where you had disappeared to?" The king asks.
"It's because distortions lead these people to me. So I knew I had to be careful." Jack says, "But I think I've screwed it up. So it doesn't matter now."
"Son..." The king says, placing his hand on Jack's shoulder. "I don't care about the lie. I am just glad that you are alright." He then looks over at Ethan and approaches him. "Thank you for saving my son."
"Oh, it was no problem. He's my friend, I would die for him." Ethan says.
"I am thankful my son has found such friends." The king says. Suddenly the door bursts open as Avery runs in. He hugs Jack before he can even react.
"I heard what had happened." Avery says as he releases Jack. "I'm just glad you're alright."
"Yeah, I'm fine. Now at least. I was in a lot of pain though. The most I'd ever been put through I think." Jack says, "But all that's important is that no one died. And the guy who attacked got his comeuppance."
