Chapter 22

"You guys know each other?" I asked.

"Ya we go way back," Matt said. He then walked across the room and put his arm around my waist. I felt tingles everywhere and I leaned in closer to him.

"Beside the fact I know Matt I'm here for you Elina. We need you, we need to find our purpose. It's so unclear," Roku stated.

"Your not taking Elina. I don't care if you need her, she needs to be here and safe," Matt said. His hold on my was getting tighter.

"Would you ever defy the MoonGoddess?" Roku asked.

"Of course not but not keeping my mate safe would go against the MoonGoddess wishes."

Roku stood up from his seat and slammed his hand on the table. "You don't understand."

"Do I need to?" Matt asked and now he was growling.

"Can't all of us just go?" Rosa asked. Her little voice eased up the tension. I almost forgot she was still in the room.

I stared at Roku. "Well can we?" I asked.

"I guess."

"How long do you need us to stay?"

"Just two days at least."

"Okay."

I mind-linked with Matt. 'Lets just go for two days and then come back. I really want to find out what's wrong.'

'Curiosity killed the cat, but we'll go for two days and Jeff will be in charge.'

I smiled in response. "Okay Roku we will go but only for two days we have other matters to attend so we don't have much time."

"I understand. Now hurry so we can leave, I will be waiting outside,"Roku said. I told Rosa to go get some clothes and come back downstairs. I was following Matt until Realyn asked to speak with me.

"Yes Realyn?"

"Out of respect Luna I don't think you should go."

"Why not?"

"Roku was a special kid, very loyal. One time his little sister was playing in a tree house and I guess she set something up in there, but anyways she told him to guard the tree house and when her friends would try to come up he would push them down. I'm sure Alpha doesn't know this because he was still here for a couple of years until he 'moved' away."

"But I have to go. If the MoonGoddess said so then it's an order."

"I know I just want you to be careful okay?"

"Of course Realyn."

I turned around and went upstairs to get some clothes and the essentials. Matt was ready just waiting for me up here. Once I was done I felt Matt grab me from behind and inhale.

"You smell better every time."

I relaxed in to Matt and took a deep breath. We will be okay we can do this.

I mind-linked Marie to tell her we are leaving. Matt and I left our room and went downstairs Rosa was sitting there talking to Realyn and eating some fruit.

"Ready Rosa?" I asked. I took a nectarine out the fruit bowl and took a bite out of it, delicious. Rosa nodded her head and hugged Realyn. I said bye and then we met Roku outside.

"We are ready then. The trip isn't far, if we are in form it will take us about an hour," Roku said.

I put my back pack on and shifted into my wolf. I saw Matt's and nuzzled into him. Rosa was pouncing around clearly excited. Roku was a brown and black wolf, he nodded at us and then ran into the forest with us following behind. The run felt great. I can feel the soft soil in my paws smell the woodsy scent and see all the little creatures jumping and flying around.

Matt occasionally bumped into me, playing around. On the way we stopped at a rapid stream and drank from it. It was refreshing and cool. Roku then caught a fish and threw it up in the air and ate it. I never thought of eating raw fish but I guess it's worth a try. I watched fish after fish until I caught one and threw it up in the air. I caught it in my mouth and chewed it. It actually tasted good and it was smooth and slippery. I'm sure though that if I had it in human form it would not be good.

We kept on our travel and the sun was setting. We soon approached a cabin, well a luxurious one. Matt went behind a tree to shift and put on some clothes. The rest of us just shifted since our clothes stay. Rosa grabbed my hand and Matt stood right behind me.

"We are here," Roku said.

We walked inside and there were people sitting together on a couch quietly talking. There are three people, two guys and one girl. They all looked up upon our arrival. The girl stands up and walks over to me and stares at me I was going to speak until she beat to it.

"You must be Elina."

"Yes and you are?" I asked.

"Penelope."

I nodded my head in response and looked over at Roku. What the hell are we suppose to do now?

"These two gentleman here are Nathan and Blaze." Nathan with brown hair and Blaze with black hair. They shook hands with me and then backed away. I guess the could fell the power radiating from Matt.

"Okay well I have a question, um when are we going to whatever?" I asked.

"Oh so that means your on board!" Penelope squealed. "Well we have to wait for the signs from the MoonGoddess and then figure out the code."

"That sounds simple beside that where are we going to sleep for the night?"

"I will show you your rooms," Roku said.

We followed him upstairs and Rosa got her own room which was next door. I said goodnight to her as she was probably going to fall asleep since we had to run here. Penelope came in behind Roku and placed two plates of food on our night stand.

"This is your dinner hope you enjoy!"

She left while Roku remained. "Everything in the house will go on lock down. You will not be able to leave your room either out the door or the window and it will not come unlock until 9:30. It's only like this because we need you Elina."

I was about to run out when Roku quickly walked out the room and instantly everything locked. Bars went over the door and window. The only plus side is that we have a bathroom. As you can tell Realyn was right I shouldn't have came. We are locked inside a room with a plate of food. It does smell good though.

Well they say curiosity killed the cat but what about a wolf?
