I walked up the pathway to Carrie's mansion with Marie and Rosa. This will be my new home for the time being. Maybe if I'm strong enough I could go to college and start a career. The doors opened and there stood Carrie. She hurriedly came to me.

"Oh poor child I'm so sorry for your loss." I squeezed her tight not wanting the comfort to end. Carrie wiped my face I guess I was crying again.
"Come on lets go inside and rest." I followed behind her taking in deep breaths as I didn't want to have a waterfall of tears.
"I will show you three to your rooms. And I think I have the perfect room for you Rosa." Rosa gave a little smile and then came to my side and held my hand. We passed two open entrances to living rooms. Two out of Twenty-One.

Carrie showed Marie her room first then Rosa and lastly mine. Before I went in Carrie stopped me.
"Elina I want to talk to your later maybe after dinner. My maids will come and escort you to the dinning room when it's time."
"Okay sounds good."

Carrie smiled. "Great."
I entered the massive room. I looked up at the ceiling and saw a moon and a sun intertwined. It is beautiful. I put my bag on the bed and started taking my stuff out. While I was doing this I noticed the room got darker as dark clouds blocked the sun. I went over to the window to feel how cool it was but right when I touched the window it froze over. I quickly pulled my hand back and clutched it to my chest. What was that about?

"Excuse me miss?" I whipped around surprised to see someone behind me.
"Don't you knock before letting yourself in?"

"Well I did."
"Oh?"
"Um even though this is sudden the Queen wanted me to ensure that you know tomorrow your being fitted for a dress. There is a gathering being held here in three days."
"Around what time will I be fitted?" I asked.
"Noon."
"Okay good to know. If that's all you can leave."
"Yes of course," the maid said then bowed and left.
After deciding what I was going to wear I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in." Marie entered quickly and closed the door.
"Hey Marie."
"Hi Elina."

"Is there something you need?" I asked.
"Actually I wanted to give you the Lace Agate pendant I made. It gives protection from evil and can absorb emotional pain." Marie had it in her palm. It was pretty.
"Are you sure you don't need it Marie since you know..."

"I'll be fine and comes to worst I can make another one though it will take time." I held out my palm and let Marie place the pendant on top of it.

"I will get going now since we should be having dinner soon," Marie said and then left the room. I looked at the pendant before I put it around my neck. I clashed with the blue crystals but from previous experiences I know I can't take it off. I went to the bathroom to wash up and change for dinner.

I just waited quietly for the maid to get me for dinner. The pain in my chest doesn't hurt as much. I guess it could be the pendant already working. As I waited I did a review on my life so far.

My pack and family died, but then I got a new pack and a wonderful mate. Also I helped Marie and got a new little sister, my family. But in the end I lost my mate and I don't know what happiness could come as all I see is darkness ahead. Hopefully everything can 'brighten up'.

A knock reached my ears as I could guess that it is time for dinner. I got up and walked to the door and opened it. I slipped out and closed the door shut I waited for the maid to start walking to follow. Pictures everywhere, high and low on the wall. Most were scenery until we got to the end of the hallway and there were pictures of Matt and his family. I took an unsettling breath and continued on.

I was expecting a long table where it felt like you had to yell to talk to the head of the table if you were on the other end. This table looked like it seated a family of six. The maid pulled out a chair for me and then left. Marie came then Rosa. Lastly Carrie came in an elegant dress.

"Hello everyone. I hope you enjoy what's for dinner tonight." Almost right after the Queen was seated food started coming out. A plate of food was placed in front of us. A cup of juice was then given to us.

"So what do you think of my home?" Carrie asked.
"I like it," Rosa said.

"I'm glad. How about you Marie?"
"I like it also but I was wondering if you have a library with books about Witches."
"Actually I do. Over time I've been collecting books on all type of subjects."
"Well that's good news to hear," Marie said and then took a bite of her food.
"Elina?"
"Your home is beautiful. Though it does bring memories." I say Carrie's eyes sadden but I looked away and started eating.

The rest of the time was silent. All you could hear were the knives and forks making contact with the plate. Rosa left since she was tired and Marie excused her self to read more of her books.

"Elina I've noticed that you have another necklace. It's beautiful."
"Oh, Marie gave it to me."

"I see. Elina honey have you noticed anything different about yourself?" Carrie asked.
"No." Carrie just nodded.

"Have you seen the weather?" She asked and took a sip of her wine.
"Yes one second sun was shining through then dark clouds just covered it up."

"It was something strange. Also I wanted to know how you are doing with your feelings."

"I don't feel a lot pain now. I think the pendant is working."

"Actually Elina I don't believe that's the reason." I narrowed my eyes in confusion.

"Then what could be the reason?"

"Child Matt's mark is fading and that usually doesn't happen even if the have passed on."
