Now a city is normally a very noisy place and New York City is no exception to that rule. But right now to Daisy, every single sound seemed to be ten times louder. The lights were brighter too. Everything just blended together into one chaotic mess and was overloading her senses. Panic was beginning to settle. Frightened, the Shih Tzu took a hard left into an alley.

Skidding to a stop, Daisy hopped into a cardboard box laying on its side. There, she could finally catch her breath and take some time to think. She sat in the box, trembling fearfully. How had everything gone so wrong so fast? Snowball was gone, taken by animal control, and she was now on her own while a bunch of psychotic strays were hot on her trail.

"It's okay, everything is going to be okay," Daisy mumbled to herself. Holding her head up high with confidence, the Shih Tzu declared, "I can do this. I can get home by myself, no problem." With that in mind, she set off. Truth be told though, she may have seemed confident on the outside but on the inside, she was freaking out. How was she going to do this by herself?

There wasn't much going on back at the alley where Snowball had been taken. People passed by the sidewalk that laid beyond and vehicles of all kinds drove by. The day was beautiful with the sun shining overhead. So why should anyone focus on the dark creepy alley? Well, the dark figure never had that thought creep through his head.

Keeping to the shadows, the dark figure sniffed the cracked pavement of the alleyway. It was pretty obvious that he was tracking something or someone. His eyes lit up when he found the scent he was looking for. Keeping his nose down, he followed the scent trail. He hoped he would find what or who he was looking for...
