"That makes 83 how about you Ryu?" Rumi asked as she tore out a robot's mess of wires and cables that served as its insides. The open cuts on her knuckles stung and several minor scrapes that were accidentally self inflicted from destroying the robots.
Ryuko turned back into her human form and spit out a tiny piece of metal that was stucl between her teeth, "76, you okay though? You're bleeding a lot."
"Yeah I'm good but I guess I should have put in a request to use those bracers like Saya suggested," Rumi shook her hand to distract herself from the pain.
"I Shin brought his scarf but I wonder what Saya brought," Ryuko looked in the direction of where the rest of their groups participants were fighting small clusters of robots, "she said it had to due with the fact that she can't use her quirk with people around."
"What is Saya's quirk I mean we've never seen it and she never talks about it even if we bug her about it," Rumi wondered out loud as she absent mindedly poked around a piece of scrap metal.
Ryuko stretched her arms and legs since transforming back and forth often made her feel sore unless she did so, "No idea but it has to be pretty strong I mean even Shin said their parents told her not to use it unless it was an emergency. Then again she didn't use it when the incident with Chako happened so there's no telling what it could be."
The distinct rumble and crashing of a collapsing building made the two friends turn around to see a robot taller than one of the city's largest builds rising up from a hatch that had opened on one of the streets. A large "0" was painted onto both of its shoulder plates.
"You're kidding me!" Ryuko's disbelief was apparent in her tone.
"Hey Ryu you think we can take that thing down?" Rumi crossed her arms and watched the Zero Pointer robot begin its rampage.
Ryuko suddenly had a bad feeling about what was to come, "Rumi no."
"Rumi yes!" The rabbit girl ran off toward the robot with a grin knowing that her dragon friend would be joining her soon after.
The two girls raced toward the Zero Pointer while the other participants scattered toward the entrance of the fake city. Those that spared the time to look at them gave them worried glances or bewildered stares at the fact that they were running toward their potential deaths. The Zero Pointer was even more daunting the closer they got and soon they were hidden in the shadow of the colossal robot.
"Help! Anyone! I'm stuck!"
Rumi and Ryuko stopped in their tracks at the sound of the distressed voice. They quickly spotted a purple haired girl trapped beneath a pile od rubble. Her earlobes were elongated and had metal jacks at the end of them. Looking between the fast approaching Zero Pointer and the trapped girl Rumi pumped her legs as fast as she could and ran to the trapped girl.
"Ryu help me out!" Rumi squatted down and began to lift the slab of rubble off the girl with Ryuko soon joining her. As soon as the rubble was out of the way she helped the purple haired girl up but noticed her wince in pain, "You alright?"
"It's my ankle," although the purple haired girl had tears in her eyes she powered through the pain.
Ryuko let out a small roar as she tranformed into her dragon form, "It'll be a bit rough but I'll fly us to the entrance." Rumi and the purple haired teen were gently scooped up into Ryuko's clawed hands before the trio took off into the air.
"It's trying to grab us!"
Ryuko glanced behind her to be met with the outstretched metal hand of the robot. She gripped the two teens in her hand tighter as she sped up and began flying in erratic patters through the cityscape. With a sharp intake of breath Ryuko made herself as narrow as possible while holding the two girls to her bossom. Folding her wings the pale dragon dove downward in a spiral just missing the falling debris from the collapsing buildings. However she wasn't fast enough to come out unscathed and a small shard of metal became embedded between the roots of her wings. With a grunt of pain she once more unfurled her wings and began to speed off in the opposite direction of the encroaching robot.
Rumi was about to ask Ryuko if she was alright but a sudden chill ran up her spine. A vertical flash came downward from the heavens followed by the echoing of shattering glass. Every single one of Rumi's senses screamed at her to move as fast as possible and that the only thing that awaited her was death if she stayed put. Ryuko apparently felt the same sensation as she held the two teens and barrel rolled to the side barely avoiding the sudden wave of destruction that came with the ringing of resonating metal. The pressure released from the attack threw the pale dragon off course and sent her on a collision course with the ground. Using all her power Ryuko managed to twist herself so that she would be the only one to come in contact with the ground and as luck would have it the metal shard stuck between her wing roots was yanked out by the force of the wind against her fall.
"Holy crap."
Rumi slowly opened her eyes to find herself being propped up against a piece of large debris with Ryuko and the purple haired teen laying on the ground nearby. "Ryu you alright?"
"Yeah but you're right when you said holy crap," Ryuko's voice was hoarse and laced with pain.
Rumi looked up to find the the open sky with the clouds slowly parting in a perfect line. The remains of the robot and the collapsed builds it had crashed into created an oddly shaped halo around the group's view of the sky. Holy crap indeed.
Author's Note
Hewo again readers it is I, Waffles_The_Neko!!!!! I just wanted to say that the Entrance Exams will be coming to a close soon but I wanted to have a few chapters highlighting Shinso, Rumi, and Ryuko as well as a few other characters. No worries though I'll get to Ochako and Saya in the final part of the Entrance Exam arc which should be the next chapter or two. Originally I was going to make Ryuko come out much more injured than she was and have a bit more darker tones to the story. For example she was supposed to be taken to the hospital and end up missing the first three weeks of U.A. thanks to her injuries and would have lost the use of her left wing. But I decided to save the darker stuff for later since that's a bit more true to the way MHA/BNHA is paced. Starts off pretty light hearted but just ramps up with intensity as it continues. Of course since this is a AU there are a lot of changes to events and characters so certain things might move faster or slower at parts. Anyways happy reading nya!~
