It was common to see Saya in the teacher's offices before and after school due to her position as one of the newest members of the teaching staff. It had only been three days since the classes began and requests from both students and teachers alike were flooding in with no end in sight. There had been a few interesting candidates particularly a Mei Hatsume from the support course and a few business course students. The general course students who applied were all those who had failed to join the hero course due to their scores on the entrance exam being too low. Koji Koda and Rikido Sato were the ones that stood out the most due to the uniqueness of their quirks and potential uses. One of the general course students was permanently banned from joining the hero course and the Fenrir Branch thanks to his application that read: "To get popular with the ladies." where the students were asked why they wanted to join. Saya was also secretly proud that she had managed to get most of the staff to nickname said student "Grapist". However, there was a very odd spectacle unfolding before the group of teachers as All Might stood beside Saya's cubicle fidgeting anxiously.
All Might had been standing there for the better part of the past few minutes trying to figure out a way to speak to the young woman. Saya was his student but also a fellow colleague so it made sense that he was having a bit of an issue when addressing her. He wasn't comfortable calling her nicknames like Midnight or Power Loader did but also felt it too formal to call her Inari. Saya usually called everyone Uncle or Aunty unless there was a need for formalities but she had yet to speak directly to All Might himself.
"E-excuse me Young Iniari, may I have a word with you about today's Foundation Hero Studies lesson with 1-A specifically?" All Might cleared his throat to gain the girl's attention.
Saya turned towards him and cocked her head as if to say: "Can I help you?"
"Just for 1-A's lesson I would like you to participate with the class and allow me to teach for this first class. I do not doubt your abilities since Nezu chose you himself but I would also like to see you in action," All Might declared with his signature smile.
"That saves me the time of asking you," Saya nodded before handing All Might a manila filder, "I want us to have seperate classes for Foundational Hero Studies. Yours on Wednesdays for practical lessons and mine on Fridays for theory and analysis."
All Might was a bit taken a-back at the girl's blunt way of speaking and the way her eyes seemed to pierce through him into the deepest recesses of his very soul. "May I ask why, I understand that maybe you have a seperate lesson plan but I think it would be best for us to teach together."
"When it comes to actual hero work on field duty you have much more experience than I do, in fact you have more experience than all of us teachers combined. Therefore the students would benefit most from practical training under your supervision myself included. Your knowledge of both combat scenarios and rescue situations is far greater than I since you've been through hundreds of real situations," Saya explained as began to pack up her belongings for the upcoming classes. "That being said I am still required to teach Foundational Hero Studies as well so I chose to maximize both my education and our student's educations. I excell at quirk analysis and strategic planning, as far as Principal Nezu has told me, and knowing quirks and strategies is vital to being a hero. It could help you save lives or apprehend a villain as fast as possible so I will teach that to the students. With your help perhaps I can have students analyze cases you were involved in and report about what they would have done if they were in your position."
"Y-yeah that makes sense," All Might was stunned at Saya's proposition since as he thought about it she was completely right. Even if she hadn't pointed it out Japan's Number One Hero wasn't exactly the best when it came to analysis and strategic planning especially with limited time such as during hero work. It was the best balance possible that allowed them to both teach what they were best at and still have her be learning at the same time.
"Please head to the class first All Might, I still need to check on the progress of my hero costume and support gear. I will meet you in gym beta for the class," Saya gave a polite bow before quickly leaving toward the support course building.
"You're forgiving him?"
As Saya walked alone in the silent hallways the trembling voice began to whisper into her ear. Unlike the hatred filled voice from her Dad's test this one was filled with fear and sadness. Instead of wrapping its icy hands around her neck it was just gently tugging on her sleeve but somehow she hated this feeling much more. No that wasn't the truth and she knew it, she hated the memories that voice brought.
"Are you going to ignore me to?"
Saya froze when she saw the green haired girl covered in cuts and burns standing at the end of the hallway. Taking deep breathes with her eyes closed she tried to will the figure away but every time she opened her eyes it was still there.
"Even he was right all along that I would just get in the way?"
"SHUT UP!"
Saya rushes forward and grabbed the girl by the neck as hard as she could. The green haired girl smiled weakly as she caressed Saya's cheeck with a bleeding hand. Without so much as a struggle the girl slowly disappeared leaving a hyperventilating Saya alone once more.
"I. Am. Not. You. So. Leave. Me. Alone. And. Stay. Dead."
