Chapter 4

Tw: shitty family, death, orphanage, major character death, swearing, and kidnapping

Third person POV

Ranboo walked over to Tubbo and leaned into him as the SBI walked over to Puffy. The children payed no mind to the adults as Tommy accidentally knocked into Tubbo which caused him to join the fight between Tommy and Purpled. Ranboo groaned as the three of them ran around the room. Dream had pulled Fundy over with him to watch the kids and as of right now Fundy and Ranboo were talking about Minecraft. Dream had his head on Fundys shoulder, even though Fundy is shorter than him, and closed his eyes. He could hear the other care takers talking to the SBI family. He picked up on a few words but with the kids screaming plus Ranboo and Fundy talking right beside him, he couldn't make out all that much. "... kids... check... comfortable..." were the words Dream heard his mom says. He sees Phil nod, and for the first time he realized that Wilbur and Techno had both left Phil's side. He looked around the room and finally spotted them. They were talking to each other but Wilbur kept glancing back at Fundy angrily. Dream shifted himself to hide Fundy from Wilbur's view. Try Wilbur glared at Dream but went back to his conversation with Wilbur. Phil walked over and says something to the boys and they all walked through the door. Everyone but Puffy, Dream, and Fundy seemed to be relatively calm. They all started back downstairs and Puffy whispered something to Dream. "Hey Toms. Fundy and I need to talk to mom. Can you please tell the other kids and caretakers? Also can you get Sam?" Dream asks. Tommy nods excitedly and runs off.

"Hey I'm here. Sorry it took so long." Sam says in his monotone voice. "It's fine Sam. As long as you could make it." Puffy says sweetly but with a worried look on her face. "What's wrong?" Sam asks immediately. "Something's definitely wrong. After Phil finished talking to me he said something about keeping an eye on the kids or else. He was super weird about it. He also kept eyeing Tommy." Puffy says. Fundy tensed up and latched onto Dream. "Fundy? What's wrong hunny?" Dream asks giving Fundy a hug. "Why? WHY? Tommy doesn't deserve this!" Fundy mutters. The fur on his face was soaked with tears. "What do you mean? Sure he looked at Tommy but that doesn't necessarily mean that Tommy is gonna be the one." Dream says, trying his hardest to reassure Fundy. "It does. They look at the kid that they want. It's to signal to the others that kid is the one that they are gonna get." Fundy mutters. "Why would they do that? They could just discuss it outside." Dream says. "They do discuss it outside but they don't leave the premises of the building. If they can leave with the kid the same day then they just spend the money and take the kid but if they can't get the kid on the same day or the people seem suspicious of them, they will kidnap the child." Fundy says "they have to communicate what kid they want inside without speaking because the people won't normally pay any attention to the glances." Dream blinks "okay! Hey uhhh Sam can we maybe get some police over here to make sure that the kids are safe?" "Already on it." Sam says. Fundy cries into Dreams shirt "Tommy doesn't deserve this. The kids already had a horrible life being in the system and having to deal with his parents death." Dream pets Fundys head as he tries to comfort him. Tommy was the first kid in Puffy's orphanage because all of his relatives lived to far away and his parents died. His mom died from a car crash when a drunk driver ended up crashing into her car at full speed. She didn't make it and Tommy's dad tried as hard as he could to raise his kid. Unfortunately he had many medical issues and he had trouble getting enough money after his wife died. He ended up giving Tommy to Puffy before he died because he knew that this was best for Tommy. Tommy was three when he first arrived and his dad died in the hospital from heart problems. Tommy formed a quick bond with everyone at the orphanage. All of the construction workers that were finishing the building loved Tommy and they sometimes still drop by to see him. Once the orphanage opened another kid quickly got taken in. This one was Tubbo. His dad was the mayor of a small town nearby and CPS had to come and collect Tubbo. Schlatt was an alcoholic and abusive father. The citizens Al hated him and one of them realized what was happening to Tubbo. Ranboo kinda just appeared on their doorstep one day and they still don't know what happened to his parents and finally Purpled was a homeless child that they found on the streets.
