Chapter 7

Josh's POV:

"Chris?" asks Jen.

"What are you doing here?" 

"I could ask you the same thing," says Chris.

I look in his hands and see flowers. Anger boils up inside me.

"I'm here because I'm saying goodnight to Jen, but then you showed up."

"Chris, just tell me what you want!" exclaims Jen.

"I'm sorry Jen. I messed up. Do you think we can start over?"

"How dare you," says Jen, "you just saw me kiss Josh, and now you want me back! I don't think so! I love Josh and nothing's going to change that!"

"Jen please," says Chris.

He then grabs Jen and presses his lips to hers. She pushes him off but can't help but punch him.

"Go! Leave Jen alone and don't come back! She's my girlfriend, not yours!"

He then throws the flowers and storms out.

"Josh I'm so sorry! It's my fault..."

"No it's not! You can't control what he did."

"Josh I love you, not Chris!"

"I know! I love you too!"

Tears are spilling out of Jen's eyes as my lips connect with hers passionately. When we let go, I hug her tight, and I don't dare let go. I grab the flowers from Chris and throw them into the fireplace. I hug her tight as I watch them burn.

"I better get going."

"No Josh please stay!"

"Okay! You're lucky you're cute!" 

We walk upstairs and I get changed into some shorts and a t-shirt that I left here one time when we had a movie night.

We lay in Jen's bed as her head lays on my chest. Nothing could get better than this. The girl of my dreams is laying with me as we both drift to sleep.
