"So a week?" I asked in shock as Autumn moved her burning forehead from my shoulder closer to my neck.
He nodded, "Yeah."
"I've got to go shopping and stuff. It'll have to wait," I sighed, "couldn't they have told us earlier?"
"That's what Liam said mate. He had plans to visit his family next week. He had to cancel."
I rubbed Autumns back as she shifted in her sleep. I looked back up at Niall, that had a sad look on his face.
"Go home, Niall. Go to Ireland. See your parents. Go see your brother and sister in law and see your nephew," I told him.
"I've got so much to do mate," he sighed, "don't know if I can."
"Get your ass to it then. You have to see them before you leave or no cuddles from her," I said pointing to the toddler on my chest.
He laughed and rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'm going. You get her to the doctor."
"I was planning on it. I'll see you later?"
"Eventually, yeah," he spoke as I heard him go down the stairs and leave my house.
"Autumn," I quietly sung as I rubbed her back. She stirred in her sleep, but didn't wake up.
"Autumn Caroline," I sung again, but a little louder.
Her tired eyes opened and she looked up at me. "We've got to go to the doctor my darling."
She shook her head, "Sleep first."
I smiled, "No sweets. You've slept all day."
She whined as I moved her and I got up from my bed. Her arms reached up, her wanting me to pick her up.
I grabbed her and brought her to her room, where I sat her down again so I could grab her some clean clothes to wear. I've got to go shopping for her, she's still wearing what she had at the orphanage.
I grabbed some black comfortable pants and a hoodie and a shirt for her to wear. After I dressed her, I put on her shoes and I changed into skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and my boots.
I slipped my flannel on over my shirt as I grabbed my keys and wallet. I picked Autumn up and got her to the car.
"Doctor?" She asked sadly as I met London traffic.
I nodded, "I'm sorry love."
"Austin died at the doctors daddy!" She exclaimed as she started to cry.
My eyes widened as I turned and looked at her. Austin? Oh god, is Austin her brother?
"Baby, who's Austin?" I asked as I held her hand and moved the car upward some.
"Autumn," I spoke, "sweetheart I need you to talk to me."
She won't even talk. She's just gripping my hand tightly and crying silently.
"Autumn, is Austin your brother?" I asked calmly as we started to drive.
I looked back one last time and she nodded, leaning forward so her burning head can rest on my hand.
"Shit," I whispered under my breath. I pulled into a McDonalds parking lot and parked, getting out of the car and getting in the back with Autumn.
I unbuckled her and she sat in my lap. I got my phone from my pocket and called Louis.
"Hello? How's Autumn feeling?"
"I need you, like now."
"Why, what's going on?"
"I'm taking her to the d-o-c-t-o-r but she said that A-u-s-t-i-n d-i-e-d at the d-o-c-t-o-r."
"Harry, why on earth did you just spell doctor, Austin, and died to me?"
"Think about is Louis. Don't be so stupid mate."
"That's rude- oh my god. Her brother died right?"
"Right," I spoke. He finally caught on.
"Her brothers name must've been Austin and when he died he was at the doctors. Or the hospital, since he was in an accident."
"I know, that's why I need you!"
"Why do you need me mate?"
Oh my freaking god. "Louis, she's scared as hell and I'm about to go back home. I need help. Her temperature is rising as we speak and I don't want to go to the hospital."
"Alright, I'm on my way. Where are you?"
"McDonalds."
"Be there in ten, okay?"
"Okay, bye."
I hung up and noticed Autumn had fallen asleep in my arms. I rubbed her back and watched for Louis to pull in.
I saw his car pull in next to mine and he got out, coming over to where I was and opened the door.
"What do I do?" I asked as he looked at how ill she was.
"We're taking her to the doctor. I'll meet you there, okay? Just get her back in the seat." he spoke as I nodded, buckling her back in and getting out of the car.
We drive off towards the doctors office and she didn't wake up, thank god. Louis and I both parked and I carried her in.
I had to fill out paperwork, or I was supposed to. I made Louis do it. We got back into a room about twenty minutes after that. Louis got a phone call, so he stayed behind.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Smith. Who's this?" She spoke as Autumn say in my lap.
"Her name is Autumn, Autumn Styles," I spoke as she snoozed in my arms.
"What's wrong with Autumn today?" She asked as she looked closely under Autumn's eyes. They were really dark again.
"She's had a high fever and a cough. She'll only sleep when I hold her. I adopted Autumn and one of the employees said that she always had an older boy stay with her because she was afraid. She stayed in bed with me for maybe to weeks and I eased her in to her bed, but by the looks of it she hasn't been sleeping and I didn't know until early this morning when she came to me."
"Can we wake her up?" She spoke as I nodded.
I stood up, laying her down on the bed. It took a moment, but she woke up and looked scared out of her mind.
"By the way, don't say 'doctor'," I whispered to her as she gave me a weird look, but nodded.
"Hi Autumn, my name is Michelle. Can you tell me what hurts you?" The doctor spoke as Autumn let her stern eyes soften.
"Everything," I heard her mumble.
Michelle nodded, "Alright sweetie. Let me do just a few things to see what you need. Then, you get a toy. How's that?"
Autumn nodded and got excited at the word 'toy'. She checked Autumn's breathing and checked for swelling in her stomach, which there was none. She check her ears, and her mouth.
"Alright, we're done here. Let me speak to your daddy and you can go pick a toy out, okay?" She spoke as Autumn nodded and gave off a small smile.
She turned to me and spoke, "Well, I think it's just a stomach virus. She's not nauseous is she?"
I shook my head. "Okay then," she spoke, "I can prescribe you some medication for her fever and body aches and and some medicine for her stomach just in case she gets nauseous. Sometimes little kids catch this and they aren't getting sick."
I nodded and looked back at Autumn, who was looking at the posters on the wall. At least she isn't screaming.
Michelle handed me her prescriptions and I got Autumn and took her to where they had the toys. She chose a toy lion out of what they had. I thanked the doctor and we met Louis and left.
