I woke up to Autumn laying her head on my chest and her playing on my phone.

"Hi sweetness," I spoke tiredly as she looked up at me, "what are you doing in daddy's room?"

"Grandma told me to," she spoke quietly.

My mom is here? I got up, leaving her in bed and ran down the stairs.

There sat my mother. She was in my kitchen, sitting on a bar stool while she drank tea.

"Mom?" I spoke as she looked up at me.

She set her glass down, got up from the stool, and came and hugged me. I hugged her back and relaxed in her arms, sighing.

"What have you got planned today?" She asked quietly.

"Autumn's got chemo at noon," I spoke as I looked behind her towards the clock, it reading that it was close to 10.

"I'm coming with you," she spoke as she let go of me.

"Mom you don't-"

"Don't say I do not have to Harry because I'm going. I am your mother. And a mother is there for their children when they need them. I hate to break it to you love, but you need me."

I smiled, hugging her once more before I went upstairs to shower. Once I got out, Autumn and I ate breakfast and the three of us left for the hospital.

//

"Daddy, it burns," she whined quietly as I held her hand.

"I know baby, I wish I could take it from you," I whispered as I kissed her head.

My mom held her other hand and kissed it lightly. She looked up at me and gave me a sad smile, then back down at my softly crying daughter.

"Shh, Autumn, daddy's here. He's got you, you're okay."

//

"Hey Harry," Liam spoke walking in my house, luggage in tow.

"Hey," I smiled as he set his bag by the couch, opening the door for Louis and Niall.

"Sup fellows," Louis spoke as I laughed a little.

"Where's Autumn?" Niall asked as they sat down.

"Mom took her to see Inside Out since she had chemo today."

"How is she?" Liam asked quietly as they looked at me.

"Fine I guess. It hurts to see her in pain, but the chemo is working and I need Autumn cured. I love her to death, she's my little girl."

//

"Daddy! Daddy!" I heard as the front door opened.

I walked out from the kitchen and Autumn ran into my arms, me picking her up and kissing her head.

"How was it sweetness?" I asked smiling.

"It was awesome! I love Joy, she's my favorite. Can my name be Joy?"

I laughed, "But then your name wouldn't be Autumn Caroline anymore."

"Never mind, I like my name. Can we get a dog and name her Joy?" She asked with wide eyes.

"We'll see love, I promise," I told her as my mom walked in.

I set Autumn down and she went to sit with Louis. She smirked, then spoke, "You best be getting my granddaughter a dog."

I smiled, hugging her as she spoke, "I plan on it. I love you mom."

"I love you too, my sweet boy."

//

"Where are we going?" Autumn asked as I drove her to the pet store.

"We," I spoke, "are getting a puppy, just like I said. You're uncle as staying behind because they are setting up a small place for her to sleep. Are you excited?"

Her eyes went wide and she nodded, which made me smile. I hadn't seen her this happy in a while.

When we arrived inside, Autumn made a bee line to the puppies and her eyes were set on one by the time I made it to her.

"This one," she spoke looking up at me, "I want this one daddy. Can we have her?"

I smiled, "Yes baby. She's perfect."
