Devil in My Mind

My wish came true!

Nighttime. Raven awakes with a gasp, sitting up abruptly in her bed, someone's in her room! 

"Mumbo Jumbo?"

It sure does look like him at least. He begins to spout whimsical nonsense.

"Kid, I'm a fever-dream. I've got access to multiple dimensions, infinite head-canons, and crossovers like you wouldn't believe. Sky's the limit with me. Tell me what you want in a father. The more detailed the better."

"Um, I...

"Ding ding ding, we have a match!"

"What?"

"Ya don't believe me? Let's see here... valiant, red and black, hair like the clouds, demon slayer, fun-loving, pizza-eating, tough guy? Ever heard of the Divine Comedy, kid?"

"Ye-"

"Your match is Dante, The Legendary Devil Hunter. Permission granted, the Devil May Cry!"

A party horn blows, confetti pops. She passes out, feeling small and helpless. She then hears an ominous voice.

"You know, Raven, there is a way to prevent Trigon from coming to Earth."

"There is? But, but how?" Little Raven asks.

"It's really very simple. Off yourself."

Gasp! "No! No, leave me alone!"

She takes off running through the Underworld, but can't seem to fly! All she can do is scream while being chased by, she looks over her shoulder... it's Slade!

"Come back here! Come back here and I'll help you do it! You know you want me to!"

Into a valley she goes, with him hot on her tracks.

She passes an overgrown rosebush, behind from which, a glorious, stormy-haired warrior emerges with a badass sword.

"Woohoo, time to die!" he cries then cuts off Slade's freakin' head! Then he whacks it with the flat of his sword, sending it flying off in the distance. "YEAH! Home run!"

STYLISH!

He turns to her with a warm smile and kneels.

"Was that guy bothering you? He sure as hell won't anymore."

She looks him up and down.

"Wow, cooooool!"

"Thanks! Wow, you really are a little half-demon girl. We're a rare breed, the two of us. But you know, honey, your friends are really worried about you right now."

She giggles, harboring an ear to ear grin.

"It's him! My Dad! Just like in my spell!"

She wraps her arms around his neck and hugs him, so happy he's finally arrived.

"Awe!" he reciprocates, finding her appreciation for him overwhelming and humbling.

But it's over too soon.

"Oh poo, I'm starting to wake up. On a cot? In the medical wing? With my friends standing around me? Whoa, what happened? When did I get hurt enough to need medical attention? This is all very strange."

"Raven, you are alright!" Starfire joyfully proclaims.

"Yes! Guess I was wrong about you," Beast Boy says, facing Dante, who stands leaning against the doorframe.

"Great work, Devil Hunter!" Robin compliments.

"Thanks for helping us get our Rae Rae back," Cyborg smiles.
