Slade's returned to his hideout, ever so pissed off. Despondent, disappointed, he's only come to back up the database he created of Trigon's library. His plan is to laser-sharp focus on this final task before bailing on Jump City. Start anew, reset this calamity.

"Should have decapitated him," he mumbles regretfully.

For the last time, he finds himself glued to his supercomputer, situated between Trigonic statues of hooded figures. Surrounded by imagery of Trigon's Gem, even here, Slade can't escape the idols that mock him for his failures. It all just looks like Raven.

"Almost done," he whispers to himself.

As the words leave his mouth, the atmosphere fills with the echoing sound of slices carving themselves into the air.

"Indeed, you are almost done!" he hears from behind, from the worst possible person, with his sword raised, running towards him in an absolute frenzy of rage! He spins around, it's the other Sparda Twin!

"OH SHIT!"

"Time to die, it's JUDGEMENT DAY!"

He gets slammed into the computer by Vergil. They ram so violently that it breaks the screen, breaks the headboard, ruins the machine altogether. Good thing Slade backed everything up. Though, it won't do much to help him now.

"You took my brother! I want your soul!"

Losing control, Vergil begins to Sin Devil Trigger, his wings and scales manifesting as he chases Slade all through the library. And he's taking everything out with him, slashing and shredding, tearing up all that lies in his path.

The warrior's emotions have overtaken his sense of self preservation, his hatred threatening to consume him and everything around him. But the villain knows this place inside and out and manages to hide himself for a few seconds.

"Keep your body, I WANT YOUR SOUL!"

Sliding out of nowhere, Slade skids into him from behind and uses every drop of Trigonic power left within him to grab the Yamato! With a precise maneuver, he turns the tables on Vergil, impaling him! The force sends them both flying into the computer again, causing it to explode!

The severing of his flesh produces a sharp and disgusting sting to the ear that makes Slade chuckle. He's got him cornered, on his knees before the flaming tech, sword stuck in his chest, protruding from his back, just like Dante.

"Funny. I was so sure you were the more cautious one of the two. You know, Vergil, I think my biggest regret in all of this was that I didn't choose you instead."

Trigon's venom filling him, Vergil can feel himself draining, losing power with every millisecond. His face begins to crack. But he still has the upper hand, his unregulated transformation into a terrifying devil is about to be complete.

"Is stealing someone else's sword the only thing you know how to do?!"

"It's the only thing I need to know how to do."

"Then why didn't you do it the first time?"

"I was too busy killing your brother."

"You're not taking my power!" Like an animal, he lunges at him. "Did you hear me?! YOU'RE NOT TAKING MY POWER!"

They tumble into one of the statues, so hard that it crumbles. He rips his sword out of his own heart and flails all over the place, continuing to demolish everything in sight. Pillars, bookshelves, solid stone mantels, the floors and the walls. All Slade can do is dodge and duck, get behind whatever's still standing.

"YOU KILLED DANTE!"

"That's right, I did! I killed him and I took his power, that was me!"

"Shut the HELL UP! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!"
