The Titans had to choose between combatting Slade or saving their friend. Naturally they chose Raven over Slade. They were smart though, reaching out to Jinx for backup, while dropping Raven off at the tower. Without a second thought, she was more than willing to stand in after learning what happened to Dante.
All night, the Titans then embarked on a quest to round up and eradicate as many demons as possible, holding nothing back and spreading out to cover more ground.
As the sunrise shines over the evacuated streets of Jump City, the morning is welcomed with a hex!
"Slade," Jinx vengefully grins, stupefying several demons by creating a deep, elongated crack down the asphalt. This definitely gets Slade's attention.
"Well well, what have we here?" he asks condescendingly, twirling his new weapon. "I'm sorry to tell you, but there are far more devils where those came from. You really ought to hide like the other forgotten civilians."
"That sword doesn't belong to you," she says with a clownish smile, striding up to him fearlessly. A few feet away, she stops and puts her hands on her hips. "You probably don't remember me. My name is Lucky, you could say I'm a Titan on loan."
"Oh but that's where you're wrong. I do remember you. I hired you once to defeat the real Titans for me a few years ago with your poor excuse for a team. As I recall, you failed that assignment and got held back at Hive Academy for another year. Is that correct, Jinx?"
"Hive Academy didn't know what to do with me. Hunting devils was always my true calling."
"And who, my dear, told you that?"
"You know exactly who. You're the one who thinks you can do better with his sword. I've seen what you can do, Slade, you're nothing special. You're a pitiful excuse for a teacher."
He glares, insulted, then charges at her.
She sends him another hex.
"Eat real magic, ya sick scumbag!"
Crack! Her powers are so unhinged that they wipe out the nearby demons and give Slade some serious whiplash, causing him to drop the Devil Sword. She lunges for it but he pulls her in and punches her in the face, sending her flying a few feet, just in time for Robin to see. He rushes to see that the villain's not harmed his new teammate. Slade is amused.
"Ambitious of you to think this little witch might benefit your team as a dangerous mercenary. Are we all Devil Hunters now, Robin? That's cute."
Robin helps Jinx stand.
"These monsters shouldn't be here! And she's right, you'll never deserve that sword! We won't let you undo anyone else!"
"Harsh words, Robin, harsh words," he says, then sprints to them. They bolt in opposite directions, barely avoiding a series of green laser-like beams expelling from the Devil Sword. He pursues Jinx.
"Come back here, you degenerate brat!"
She leads him up a glass building.
"You talk a lot of trash for someone who can only keep up with me using stolen magic!"
She's getting under his skin. He attempts to ensnare her. But she turns around, lets herself drop, then sends a hex down the high-rise.
"Suck hexes, wannabe!"
Her enchantment parades down the glass like a marvelous rocket and Slade is unable to avoid it. As a wave of pink lightning courses downwards, story by story, he's hit hard and drops the sword again while falling onto the street. Jinks lands gymnastically on the sidewalk and snags the sword. He grabs her arm violently.
