Devil in My Mind

You're back!

Once in the hallway, after the door's slid noiselessly shut, he finds himself hearing the tail end of a bizarre conversation.

"What if you turn into a male seahorse?" says Starfire. "I have learned that it is the male seahorse that does the birthing."

Beast Boy yells incredulously!

"You can't fit a yoni egg inside of a seahorse!"

Dante's voice interrupts them.

"It's a real race to the bottom here at Titans Tower."

Starfire spots him and kinda freaks, thrilled to see him!

Gasp! "It's Dante! Friends, he is back and he is here! Dante, you are okay!" 

"Hey Titans," he says leaning against the wall and folding his arms, the way he did when Raven released him from her chakra on her birthday.

"Dude!" Beast Boy shouts.

"Shhh," Dante insists with his finger on his lips. Starfire realizes she was a bit explosive and covers her mouth.

"Dude!" Beast Boy whisper-shouts. "Did you hop out of her chakra in her sleep?!"

"Something like that," Dante replies, wanting to keep his somberness private.

"And she is okay?" Starfire asks, "I thought I heard you in distress, worried for her."

"She went through a lot," Dante replies. "She needs to rest."

"Agreed," says Robin.

Yeah, quiet's not gonna work for joyful Star.

"Come, friend! Tell us all about your adventures in the Wonderland of the Healing!"

"Yeah fine, just not by her room," he agrees. They all head to the den.

"Not gonna lie, I have so many questions," Cyborg says brightly. "Really curious about everything that happened to you."

Robin tells Dante, "We understand if you don't wanna go into detail about some of it. I know it was intense."

"I'll tell you what I can," Dante says, taking a seat on the sofa, Beast Boy happily joining him.

"Man, I'm starved," BB says, "what's for dinner?"

"I dunno, what do you want, Dante?" Cyborg asks.

"Pizza always."

"Nice, me too!" says Beast Boy.

"Oh that's an easy one! Pizza it is!" Cyborg says, then begins working his magic in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Robin and Starfire get comfortable on the other sofa.

"May I ask what Raven did to fix your injury?" Starfire wonders. "You look so very well, you are glowing!"

"Yeah, are you totally better now?" Beast Boy also wonders.

Dante feels his chest, searching for any blood. Everything seems to be fine, completely cured.

"Seems that way. I can heal myself but she sped it up. That's the only way I can explain it."

"That is most reassuring!" says Starfire. "We were sure Slade had destroyed you!"

"Nah," Dante shrugs it off, then pauses, looking away from them, a bit stuck in the memory. It traumatized him more than he'd like for them to know, but they're already picking up on it.

"Let's move on," Robin suggests. "Your brother found us."

"What?" Dante says, giving them eye contact again. "Vergil. Vergil was here?"
