Hi! Welcome to disappearing: a stranger things choose-your-own adventure! 

I tried to make this experience as immersive as possible, so hopefully, it's fun to read. 

If you don't know what a cyoa, or choose-your-own adventure is, I'll try to give you a quick summary. 

Each chapter, you'll be presented with two to three choices for what to do, and that will affect how your story progresses. 

For this cyoa, you'll be a character in the first season of the tv series Stranger Things. Depending on the choices you make, you can save your friend, Will Byers, or be doomed to a fate in the Upside Down. 

A few notes just to make this experience as seamless as possible:

I'd recommend using the table of contents tab on the top of your screen instead of the button at the end of every chapter, just because the chapters aren't always in the most linear format. 

If there's a chapter without a choice at the bottom, that's purposeful! Just do what the text in italics tells you to do. 

I'll be trying to update this daily or semi-daily, though I do get a bit busy, and with all the parts I want to drop at the same time, it can be a lot of moving parts that are hard to figure out. 

You don't have to have seen Stranger Things to read this cyoa, but it helps if you have. 

You can decide most, if not all, characteristics of your character unless something has already been decided, in which case you'll know. 

This cyoa is written in a second-person point of view because it made the most sense. I've tried to keep the characters in the cyoa from referring to you/your character as much as possible, but if they ever refer to you, I'll be using they/them pronouns and '[]' where a name would be.
