I turn around and see Gavi standing in the doorway of the balcony
"No problem" I respond and he walks up to me
"So I have a question" he asks me
"Shoot"
" what is it like to have Messi as your father? Like is it weird" he asks me
"Not really, just like it's weird that people know who I am. Like I when I'm out and about and people know me it's like weird and also I'm sure you know this but people will use me once they figure out who I am so that sucks."
He gives me a sympathetic look before responding
"Yeah I totally understand that" he says
"It's just hard because you just don't know who you can trust and when it's someone you really thought you could trust they break it." I say and he nods his head
" yeah for me though it's just hard with everybody constantly throwing themselves at me . I feel violated sometimes and others it's just like annoying. And every time I start dating someone and I think I found something real it ends up being her using me." He says
"I'm sorry "
"No no no I'm sorry for ranting"
" don't worry, sometimes you just need to let it all out I get that."
" so like not to sound weird or anything but can I get your number just in case your back in Barcelona or I'm here we can meet up?" He asks me
" of course" I say
I give him my number and we continue talking until I hear the door to the balcony open.
" Gavi your ride is about to leave" My father says coming outside
" okay, thank you"
" anytime good to see you kid" he responds as Gavi leaves
He waves goodbye to me
I wave back and watch as he leaves
"Carmen I really do want you to be very careful with Gavi" my father states
"Papa I'm not dating him or anything like that." I argue
"Then why did you give him your number?" He asks
"Well number 1 you shouldn't be spying on me and number 2 I gave him my number so we could text as friends."
"Carmen all I'm saying is to just be careful, Gavi doesn't have the best history in dating"
"What do you mean?" I ask confused
"When he would date girls out of nowhere he would just drop them or ghost them." He responds
"Papa I promise I will be careful if anything was to happen but nothing will just trust me" I plead
"Ok amor come and say goodbye to pedri though"
"Okay"
I say and we walk back inside
My mom is saying goodbye to all the old Barca players that where in our house and pedri came up to me
"Later pequeña" he says
" text me as soon as you get to your hotel I need to talk to you about something." I say in a serious tone
"Ok Carmen" he says
"Hey and next time you come back maybe bring a novia I know your mom thinks the same as I do" I say joking
"Goodbye bruja" he says pulling me in for a hug
"Later tonto" I say and push him off me
Arujo walks up to us
"Pedri leave Carmen alone" he says
"Good bye hedor" he says to me and hugging me
I pull back and stick up my middle finger
"CARMEN" my mom yells from the kitchen
I whip around and shrug at her and turn back to Ronald and Pedri
"She's the real bruja" I say and laugh
"I heard that niña" my mom yells
"See what I mean" I whisper
They laugh at me and go to say goodbye to Neymar and my father
I'm about to walk up the stairs when I hear someone call my name
"Carmen" I hear a soft voice say behind me
I turn and see gavi standing right there
"What's up?" I ask him
"Nothing I just wanted to say goodbye" he says
I walk over and give him a hug
"It was very nice to speak with you tonight, call me if you ever need anything" i whisper in his ear
"Thank you Carmen " he says before letting go and walking towards the front door
Right before he leaves he waves me goodbye and smiles
I get butterflies a blush but I wave back and walk up the stairs to my room
Right as I'm about to close the door I hear my little brother Mateo outside my door
" caramel" he says
"Tato" I say back
"I think that guy Gavi likes you" he says giggling
"Mateo no he doesn't" I say
"Then why was he staring at you when you were on the balcony"
"callarse la boca" I say at him and laugh
"Why are you turning red"
"Go away bobo" I yell
"Oooohhhh Carmen's got a crushhh"
Before he says anything else I shove him out of my room.
