Mey felt the world spinning as she began to slowly wake up. Memories began to flood back of taking on a pirate then cold steel on her throat. She jolted up and saw she was now in a row boat. Panic began to set in.
"If you want to stay alive, I suggest you lay back down and pretend to be unconscious." Mey looked in front of her to see a boy around her age rowing the boat. He was well dressed compared to the other pirate with a crème colored, long-sleeve blouse with ruffled ends, dark brown pants that went into his knee-high brown, leather boots. His hair was dark brown and parted down the middle with some bangs slightly hiding his eyes. A cutlass was attached to his belt on one side and a dagger on the other. In one ear he had a simple silver earring and wore a small moon necklace around his neck. After taking in his very handsome features, Mey snapped back to reality.
"And why would I trust a pirate?" He stopped rowing for a second and raised an eyebrow.
"Do you have a choice?" He was right, and Mey knew it. Even if she tried to get away, this pirate had a weapon, and it was already a good swim to land. He would catch her in the boat before she even made it to land. She quietly laid back down and put the blanket back over her. She then felt around her neck and panic set in once more when she didn't feel the necklace. She jolted up once more feeling around her neck then the boat. "Relax, I have it right here." Mey's eyes widened.
"Filthy pirate." The boy put the necklace back into his pocket.
"I am saving your life, now lay back down, or I will force you." Mey hesitated for a second then laid back down with a huff. Her heart began to beat faster and faster as the inched closer to the ship. Once the boy stopped rowing, she knew they arrived. He carefully stood up and gathered her up, slinging her over his shoulder. "Do not move or make a fuss. It will only get worse from here." Mey stayed still as the boy climbed up the rigging. Once they were on deck, she heard snickers and whispers among the crew. Every time he took a step, she felt as though her heart would be out of her chest, but she had to stay strong. But once the boy stopped, she felt as though her heart stopped as well. All fell silent until she heard a door opened and someone with heavy boots stepped out. Step by step, the figure drew closer, and Mey felt her breath stop in her throat. Then it was silent once again.
"Put her down." The deep and gravel voice belonged to a man. How did he know she was a woman with her entire body being covered? Then she remembered the pirate on shore. "Jeong Yunho, I said put her down." Yunho, so that was the boy's name. Hesitantly, Yunho put her down gently. Why was a pirate being so gentle and careful with her? This wasn't normal pirate behavior. Mey crawled onto her knees with the blanket still covering her head. However, it wasn't covering her for long because the man who told Yunho to set her on the ground now ripped the blanket from her hold. Mey looked up trying to adjust her eyes to the now night light. As her vision stabilized, she looked up to see man grinning down at her. She knew at once who it was, the ruthless pirate himself, Captain Yang. His brown beard was scratchy and a scar ran along his cheek up towards his right eye. His eyes were black and sinister just like the depths of the sea. His hair was tucked into a pony-tail and hidden behind his big black hat with a green feather tucked in it. His clothes were of those like a commander or admiral and across this body he wore a satchel filled with bullets for his musket that hung on his side long with a cutlass. He towered over her with a devilish smile that made Mey's stomach turn with disgust. To avoid his gaze, she looked around at the crew to see the same look on their faces. Some were laughing with lust while others just stared at her hoping their captain would just kill her where she knelt. But what drew her attention was a group of seven boys that the one called Yunho had now joined making it eight. They did not stare on with lust, desire, or hatred, but instead with worry and fear. One in particular whose eyes, that were hidden slightly by his black hair, were opened wide with shock. To Mey, he looked so familiar, like she had met him before. She looked at him trying to place him, but nothing came across her mind. The captain then bent down in front of her snapping her back to reality and back to him.
