Chapter 15: The Accord and Confession

Mey was now standing in a kitchen of a small house while watching her crew cause chaos and mischief outside, well not all of them at least. The sun was now setting behind a beautiful hillside that she kept looking up to. Even though this town was small, she could see herself making a home here eventually, and that hillside was calling her name. Maybe it was because it faced the sea like her favorite cliffside back in Barranor. She was so lost in thought she didn't notice that San was staring at her through the window, every once in awhile looking up at the hill she was staring at. Sometimes he would smile, like he knew what she was thinking. Hongjoong and Chan eventually came inside to inform Mey they would head to the tavern to which Mey responded that she would meet them there shortly. Once she knew noona did not need anymore help, and JinJin was put to bed, she said her goodbyes and headed to the tavern. She could hear the faint laughter coming from the tavern as she neared it making her smile. A gentle breeze gently blew her hair causing a chill to go down her spine.

     "My heart is pierced by Cupid. I distain all glittering gold. There is nothing can console me, but my jolly sailor bold." That voice. That song. She knew both. Her eyes grew wide as she looked to the sea. 

     "My Little Star."

     "Mey?" A voice, yet again, brought her back to her senses. She didn't even notice she was tightly clasping her star pendant until she looked down at her hand then back at the figure who owned the familiar voice. San, who was now standing behind her, walked closer to her.

     "Did you hear that voice?" Mey asked, her words almost lost in her throat.

     "What voice?" Mey looked up at San. He had a worried look in his eyes. She was sure she heard the voice. Looking back at the sea, her eyes searched for something but found nothing.

     "It sounded so real. I thought that...." Mey looked back at San. "I'm sorry. I must sound crazy." San pulled her in for a hug.

     "I don't think you're crazy maybe tired." San pulled away enough to look at her. "You sure you want to head to the tavern? I could take you back to the ship to get some sleep." Mey shook her head.

     "No, I want to go." San nodded his head then lead her to the tavern. As she looked up at the sign, she felt her skin crawl. "'The Dead Siren'. Was this Yang's doing?" She asked turning to San. He nodded his head.

     "He said it was to remind them who was in charge of this town." Mey sighed and shook her head before entering. Several men were sitting around talking and laughing. Some of them eyed her as soon as she walked in, but San quickly shut them down when he put his arm around her. He led her to two tables in the corner of the tavern where the crew were drinking and talking while waiting for them. She took a seat next to Wooyoug and Yeosang and took a sip of rum from her mug that San ordered. She began to look around and began to see how much this town was hurting.

     "No entertainment?" She asked.

     "Seems to me Yang scared them off when he was here last, but that was years ago. This town is now scared of him." Yunho replied taking a drink. Mey stood from her seat before anyone could stop her and walked to the bar where a man was serving bottles and pints of rum. He smiled when he noticed Mey standing by the bar.

     "Ah, miss, what can I do for you?" 

    "I was hoping you knew of someone with musical entertainment." The man seemed a bit happy that she asked.

     "We haven't had proper entertainment since Yang scared everyone here."

    "Well, they have nothing to be scared of now." There was a pause before the man came from around the bar and  asked Mey to follow him to a door near the back. He opened it to reveal some old wooden trunks and boxes that were covered in cobwebs.
