Chapter 24:The Long-Awaited Meeting

It was the morning after the wedding, and Mey was now seeing her father and brother off to their ship. She was going to miss them so much as she had not seen them in so long. San stayed back as he knew she needed time with her family, but to also make sure that the crew would not make such a fuss when they would awake with hangovers.

     "Well, you are a married woman now." Felix said softly as he walked along side Mey. "Does it feel any different."

     "Not right now, but I'm sure it will eventually especially on board ship." Felix then took his sister's hand in his.

     "You know, you are always welcome back home to at least visit. I know some of the people would be happy to see that their princess is happy and well, and father and I would enjoy your company." Mey gave a sigh at his words.   

     "I know, and I want to come back, but you know what is preventing me from doing it." Felix sighed giving a nod. "Does father know?" Felix looked up ahead to see their father talking to the captain at the dock. He stopped and turned to face Mey.

     "He does not, though he needs to know."

     "I know, but you know I am scared." Felix gave her a stern look.

     "Do you really think he would not believe his own daughter?"

     "Felix...."

    "I know. I know. I'm sorry." Felix then brought his sister into a hug. "When you told me in the letter of what really happened, I wanted nothing more than to kill him. You trusted me, and I'm not about to break it. I will not tell him because that is what you need to do, but you need to do it soon. Father has been sending him on journeys to different kingdoms to conduct regular business, but I know he goes off course to search for you. Please, be careful." Mey pulled away and reached up to give Felix a kiss on the forehead.

     "I promise. Plus, I don't think any of the crew will let him come near me." Felix and Mey smiled at each other before walking the rest of the way towards their father. Once he saw his daughter, he brought her in for a hug when she was close enough. Mey embraced him with a smile on her face, and once she pulled away, she saw the brightest smile on his. It was the first time he had smiled that big since before the passing of her mother.

     "My dearest Mey, you have grown into a beautiful and wise woman. I am so proud of you." He gently placed a hand on her cheek. "Continue to stay strong, alright?" Mey smiled back.

     "I will."

     "And visit more often." He said as he patted her nose with his index finger making her giggle.

     "I promise." Arden gave a smile before kissing her on the forehead.

     "I love you, my daughter."

     "I love you too, father."

    Mey was now walking the beach of the same beautiful island. The moon made the beach seem like it was apart of the heavens. The sand was warm from the heat of the sun that had now long since set. She looked out to the sea and saw the same ships still anchored in the harbor. Somehow, she wished that whoever was onboard would come ashore, but they never did. Mey just stood there waiting for the woman who always appeared. She hoped this time she could answers some questions that were still lingering on her mind after all these months.

    "Mey." That voice made Mey's eyes grow wide. She turned to see the woman standing there. Her raven hair flowing past her waist and her skin glowed in the moonlight. But her eyes were a beautiful dark green, just like her mothers. Mey drew closer to her and saw clearly she wasn't making things up.
