Chapter 19: The Name

Hongjoong and the rest finally returned to the ship after two days of constant searching since Han and Changbin brought back her necklace. Hongjoong gave it to San for safe keeping, and since then, he had not taken it off. Before they all decided to get some rest, Hongjoong called them all down to the hold to have a meeting.

     "We have searched the entire island and the town. No one has seen them for the last five days. I do not want to fear the worst, and none of us should. If they were dead, we would have found them by now. Which means they were captured and are now hidden somewhere deep in the island or they were taken off the island. Seeing as there have been no ships coming or leaving the island, they are still here. Whoever has done this knows how to hide. Tomorrow we will go into the town and survey like we have done these past few days. Anything that seems off, we follow. We will not leave this island until we find them, understand?" The crew all nodded before Hongjoong left for his cabin. He would not give up, even if that meant they would never leave.

    One of the henchmen threw Wooyoung back with the others after his beating. Yeosang, Hyunjin, and Seungmin were now almost fully healed thanks to Mey's medical knowledge Seonghwa taught her. The henchmen gave a chuckle and left them alone once again. Mey quickly stood from her spot she was sitting and went to Wooyoung with Hyunjin following behind her. They gently helped him up and carried him to the back where Mey could patch him up. For two days now, the men beat and tortured all of them for information, except for Mey, but the others were fine with that. They would rather take the beating then have Mey be beaten. At first they thought their plan of waiting it out so they could take them all out seemed logical and smart; now Mey was regretting it. They should have ran when they had the chance. Mey dipped the now very dirty rags in the water that ran from the cave and began to take care of Wooyoung. He began to wince from the pain on his arms and legs.

    "I'm sorry. I know it hurts." Mey said softly trying to now be careful with the wounds.

     "You do what you need to do, Mey. Besides, I think all of us would be dead if it wasn't for you." Wooyoung replied with a small smile.

     "He's right, you know. We owe you." Seungmin added in. Mey gave a smile.

    "Well, I know how you can repay me. Once we get out of here    , you and Hyunjin join our crew. I know our captain would want you both to, especially after all of this." Hyunjin sat next to Wooyoung and helped with some of the bindings on his arms.

     "We would be honored. But I don't think we will find a way out anytime soon." Hyunjin and Mey finished the bandaging and sat in silence with the rest. Mey began to look around the cavern.

     "There has to be another way out besides the main entrance." She looked around as her eyes landed on the flowing water they had been using. "This water flows from the way back. There has to be a hole big enough we could break through."

     "Unless it's just a crack in the wall." Yeosang put in. Mey looked over and gave him a glare.

    "Think positive, Yeo. There's no harm in looking. It's the only thing we haven't checked." Yeosang gave a sigh, but stood up with Mey as they made their way to the very back of the cave where Wooyoung found Hyunjin and Seungmin. They followed the little path of water to a small waterfall that formed on the back wall. Like Yeosang said, it was just a small crack. But Mey noticed something else. From the small crack was a tiny stream of light, letting her know that the sun was shining outside. It was so small, no one would be able to see it unless they were desperately trying to find it. "Yeosang, look" Yeosang turned to see Mey pointing at the small crack on the cave wall. Yeosang then looked over at her and gave her a sarcastic stare.
