Evers screamed, charging forward to attack. Nevers ran into battle as well. Swords clashed and blood spilt, people floating into the air and blasting each other with unusual powers. Hort screamed, fangs extracting from his mouth. People ran onto each other, punches thrown left right and centre.
People averted from Valerie, anyone brave enough to try and attack her was frozen on the spot. She didn't stoop so low as to kill them, but it would take hours for them to thaw. Sophie cackled at the chaos, ignoring Agatha's pleas for her to stop. Nevers were hit with flaming arrows, and Evers were injured with cannonballs of poison. Nevers, dressed stupidly in lace and frills, laughed like crackheads.
Valerie watched in despair as Tedros walked forward, swinging his sword. There was no light left in his eyes. To be honest, she thought he looked extremely attractive as he did so, but such thoughts weren't appropriate as she froze another student.
Dot span her hand, the liquid fire she conjured gurgling in her palm. "Who wants hot chocolate?" She laughed, throwing it down and causing a fiery explosion. People flew and crashed into the walls, the chaos forming into every man for himself. She conjured more fireballs, her eyes rolling to the back of her head, laughing crazily.
Valerie yelled as Tedros was thrown against a wall, using her power to float him somewhere safe on a slab of ice. "I guess you've chosen your side," Was all she noted, cracked her neck and began walking to Sophie.
Valerie felt no mercy when she swung her sword at Nevers trying to stop her from getting to Sophie, who was laughing as blood magic flowed through her. Valerie used her dagger to slice at Nevers, and her ice to blast them out the way if they proved challenging. The blood magic tangled in Sophie's hair, making it rise.
Valerie paused when she turned. She faced Anadil, a good friend of hers. "You know this is wrong, you're fighting for a side that will kill all of you to uphold corrupt power," Valerie warned, her eyes burning white.
"Don't do this," Anadil pleaded as she created a glowing green ball in her hands. "Don't stop me then," Valerie tensed, advancing. Anadil attempted to blast Valerie but her slime was deflected by an icy shield. "I expected better of a friend," Valerie sneered, freezing Anadil with a small glance. Any mercy was gone.
When she looked back, Tedros had sliced through the flames, almost stabbing Anadil but was hit to the side by Hester's dragon. "Call yourself a Prince, Teddy?" She asked with sarcasm, Tedros straining as he attempted to get up. Hester grunted when she sent the dragon onto him, Tedros crying out as its flames burnt his skin. His arms blistered and became red raw.
Hester's breath hitched and she looked down. Valerie placed her dagger to her throat, pulling on it from behind Hester. "My Prince. Now call the dragon off," Valerie hissed, her eyes wide watching the demon burn Tedros.
"You wouldn't dare," Hester tried, crying out when Valerie drew blood. "Remember who saved your life when Sophie nearly ended it," Valerie whispered in her ear, all humanity gone. She had no one and nothing. She was alone.
"If you don't call off the dragon I'll freeze all the blood in your body," Valerie hummed, Hester squeaking as her whole body tightened, the blood slowing as it became more solid. She finally ordered the dragon back to her, Tedros lying on the ground with smoke billowing off him.
Hester let out a sigh of relief as her whole body loosened, gasping when suddenly she was against a wall, her limbs plastered to the stone with layers of ice. Valerie ran to Tedros, using her powers to cool his burns, the boy - now relieved of pain - stood and ran back onto the battlefield.
"Just wait, listen!" Agatha screamed, her voice hoarse as she tried to stop students attacking each other with fireballs. "They're trigger happy, Agatha," Valerie called with a sneer, putting out a fire with her ice. "This is the fairy tale your friend wants".
Valerie watched Sophie use her blood magic to surround Tristan, Kiko's new boyfriend, and throw him to the floor, the Ever groaning in pain as he tried to get up. Tedros looked at her angrily, slashing his way through the crowd to get to Sophie.
Hort ran around swinging his bat at anyone who came near, his happy smile disintegrating when he nearly hit Valerie, the bat falling to the ground as it faded into a pile of snow. Valerie was slowly using more of her power, able to let some of it out in controlled amounts. Hort ran off picking another spiked ball up and swinging it around more.
Valerie stared at Sophie who used her power to order him about. The white-haired girl reacted too slowly when she processed Sophie's order, Hort smashing his bat into Tedros' back, the love of her life falling to the ground.
"NO TEDROS!" Valerie screamed, the boy out cold on the ground. Blood spilled out of his black in heaps - he was on his deathbed. Valerie looked around with piping-hot anger, making eye contact with a smug Sophie.
With the crunch of her fist, a bunch of Nevers that surrounded Valerie were suddenly all dead, their bodies frozen and stiff - all of them falling and cracking into unusual angles. "Get away from him," Valerie roared, running forward, ice forming into steps as she ran above the attacking people and to Tedros.
Sophie stumbled back slightly with fear, not expecting Valerie to kill anyone, especially not so many students at once. Her eyes scanned the dead students with intimidated eyes. Agatha ran to Tedros as well, trying to wake him whilst Valerie attacked anyone who came near them.
"Back off Valerie," Sophie screamed, trapping the girl with her swelling red magic. "This is my happy ending," Sophie said, getting up close to Valerie who was huffing in rage. "So this is how you change the world?" Agatha stood, leaving Tedros on the floor. Valerie's eyes widened when more blood seeped from under him.
"This is what you've always wanted? To simply have it all at your feet?" Valerie asked, seething with fury. Sophie pretended to think before turning to the pair and saying, "Mmm, yup. The only mistake I made was thinking I needed to switch schools. It was just the schools which needed to switch," Sophie smirked. Valerie struggled with the bond of the magic.
"The mistake you made was thinking that you needed any of this," Agatha pleaded, standing in front of Valerie. "Look what it's done to you," Agatha cried, tears streaming down her face. "Look at what it has done to your friendship," Valerie added with a snarl. "SHUT UP GRAYSKULL!" Sophie threw Valerie against the wall, her eyes shimmering red.
Valerie was unconscious on the ground for a few seconds, coming around eventually. The world span and her elbow ached. She groaned, pushing herself up and rubbed off the rubble on her white coat.
Her eyes widened when they reached Sophie, the witch collapsed on the floor. She was rocking back and forth, holding her head. "I'm so sorry. Please, I won't hurt her again," Sophie begged, the pain finally seeming to cease. So Rafal, Valerie assumed, would not let her be hurt. She wondered why.
"Sophie, Rafal is the enemy," Agatha pleaded, "We have to defeat him!" Agatha was quietened by Sophie who raised her magic finger, the fibres of bleeding air thrumming softly. "I'd rather defeat my nemesis," Sophie ground her teeth, regaining her confidence, Agatha gasping quietly as she was entrapped by the blood magic as Valerie was.
Valerie's vision cleared, and the girl slowly clambered up the stairs. She watched from afar, stabilising herself on the stone column a few meters away from the pair. Sophie then sent Agatha flying through an open pair of doors, closing it afterwards, ignoring Agatha's pleas for help. Sophie sighed dramatically,
"Now, just one last score to settle," Sophie stated, running into the crowd. Valerie ran after her, her running a little wobbly but before she could grab her, Sophie was flying off and gone through a broken window.
