"Mountain, no!" Ifrit exclaimed as Mountain bolted for the door. They had just heard an explosion outside followed by screaming. Mountain called out, "I need to find Swiss! Something doesn't feel right."
"Mount-" Ifrit tried again, just for the larger ghoul to run out of the common room and down the hallways. His heart was racing in fear, he just felt like something was off, that something was going wrong. He felt the need to find his mate and protect him. He saw a glimpse of white wings outside as he ran past a window, making his eyes widen.
A holy war? He thought. He started running faster, nearly leaping down flights of stairs trying to find Swiss. The more he ran through the church, the more dead ghouls he saw. There were limbs scattered through a few hallways, unable to tell if they were human or ghoul. Either way, he felt bad for whoever died being dismembered. He went to turn a corner, just to hear some talking.
"Why can't we just have some fun with this?"
"We're ridding the world of the unholy. Are you saying you're not having fun?"
"No, I'm just saying that the searching and the killing becoming repetitive. The humans don't fight, the ghouls aren't strong, where's the enjoyment?"
"We can try torture?"
"I already did."
"On a ghoul?"
"Human, but they didn't last long."
"What do you mean?"
"I didn't think that they were so fragile."
Okay, the limbs were human then, Mountain thought. He then cringed, feeling a shiver go down his spine as the thought processed in his head, those were human limbs, fucking disgusting.
He accidentally pushed a door, making it squeak open. His eyes went wide as the two angels stopped talking. He heard them coming closer, making haste to scramble away, just for another angel to appear behind him. He jumped and immediately attacked using vines, grabbing the angels by their legs or their arms and throwing them using the vines. His eyes were glowing bright emerald green as he tried to defend himself using his abilities.
The angels were using their blades, cutting through the vines, soon managing to get free. Just before he could attack again, he felt a hand on his back, feeling his power drain from him. He fell to the ground with a gasp, just got an angel to crouch in front of him, grabbing his chin in his hand, making him look up at him as he said, "We could have some fun with this one."
"He won't fight back either. I mean, look at him, he barely knows how to act without his ability," The angel that took his power said with a laugh. The angel in front of him smirked before knocking him out.
He woke up in a dark room, tied down to a chair. He struggled for a moment, trying to use his ability to get out of the chair, just to remember they had taken it away. He let out a yell, just for an angel to walk up to him and say, "They won't hear you."
Mountain glared at him, some of his short curly hair falling into his face, making the angel let out a laugh, "No one will hear much of anything, actually."
"Why?" Mountain asked, keeping his glare on the angel. His eyes stayed glued on it as it started to walk around, "You see, ghoul, we aren't at your, what do you call it? Your church? We aren't at your church anymore. Yeah, you won't get out of here alive so I'll tell you that we aren't far. Your friends will still be able to find you. If they survive. But your mate, ooo, your mate may not be very happy with us."
"You stay the fuck away from him!" Mountain exclaimed. The angel looked at him, a smirk on his face, "It's a him?"
Fuck, Mountain thought, I need to be more careful with what I say.
