Delilah's P.O.V
I ran. I ran as fast as my feet can take me. I almost forgot what freedom felt like until I get a taste of it. It's such an addictive feeling to be free. It's like there is no limits, no rules no anything. Just me against the world. And that's exactly how I feel. Being locked away for 6 years can really take a toll on someone's life. It's windy outside, but not a knock you off your feet windy, it's a pleasant wind. It's currently 9:30 at night and I have no where to go and no knowledge of the outside world. For all I know a lot can change in 6 years. It's currently April 2nd, a day after my birthday. I ran away from my mom because of a stupid fight, a stupid fight that probably makes no sense to run away because of, but the freedom feels good. I'm not gonna lie I feel petrified. I haven't been anywhere in 6 years yet here I am running threw a field of grass like I have somewhere to go or someone to see. I grabbed money. I grabbed about $50 from my moms wallet. It's probably not enough but what can you do.
I ran for what felt like hours when I saw a light in the distance. It reads "fast pass" I have no clue what it is but I guess I will have to find out. As I get closer it has weird pump looking things and has an indescribable smell.
As I walk threw the doors I see someone behind a counter. They look like they are falling asleep, probably because of the time.
"Hello sir?" I say kindly. I really need to know where I am. And where is the nearest hotel. I herd of them but never seen one in real life.
"Sir!" I say a little louder this time. Wow he must really be tired.
"What!" He yells without even moving. He shifts in his seat a little to look at me.
"Are you lost little lady?" He asks mockingly. Wow what is his problem
"Um yes I was wandering if-" I get cut off by him getting up from his seat and waking towards me. What is he doing?
"Are you lost little lady?" He asks again but in low growl. Is everyone like this? I really hope not. He reaches out for me but before he can I run out the door. I start running to the left and I see a bike parked outside. I remember when
I was taught how to ride one of these. It's the only source of freedom my mom let me have and I would ride it everyday. I grab the bike and get on the road. I ride on the rode for what felt like forever. But it feels good to ride again I miss this, a lot.As I drive more I see lights, a lot of lights. I see a huge sign on a mountain the reads "Hollywood". Wait? What! Hollywood is located in California. I though I lived in Texas! Did my mom lie to me this whole time! What in the world! I feel like my whole life is a lie. Ok so let me get this straight! I live in the not populated part of California. I heard that "Hollywood" is so populated. It's one of the most popular places in USA and I don't know if I want to be walking the streets alone. I've heard of these so called "famous people" and all I know is that you get famous here. I never knew the names of anyone famous besides Mozart and what not.
As I get closer more and more cars pass me. I'm scared they are gonna hit me. But I'm to tired and determined to care.
I finally reach the city. The lights are almost blinding at night and why are there so many people wandering the streets at this time? I don't even know the time but it has to be at least 12:00.
I see a small store that says "CVS Pharmacy" on it. It doesn't look like that many people is there so I guess I will give this store thing another try. I just hope that the worker is less weird this time. I pull into the driveway and park my bike on the bike parking. I hope no one will take it. I really need it. I head for the door. I jump when the door atomically opens. Wow Technology really CAN changed in 6 years.
"Hello ma'am welcome to CVS" a woman says from behind a counter. I jump again by the sudden voice. I have been quite jumpy lately. Can you blame me?
"Hello" I say back after I composed myself. What am I doing here anyways? Oh yah I needed directions!
"If you need help with anything just ask me. I will be right here" she says kindly. Ok good, not everyone is a total creep.
"Actually I do need help, I was wondering where the nearest and cheapest hotel is, I'm a little lost" I sigh loudly scratching the back of my head and looking at the ground. Why did I get myself into this?
"oh, umm the cheapest hotel is actually a couple blocks away, it's actually a motel, it's called 'holly motel' and it's better for short term stays." She says kindly again. Im happy she is kind.
"Oh, ok thank you, I umm, I just wanted to get something to eat first." I really will need something to eat I don't think motels have food and I don't want to starve. I walk threw the isle's looking for something to eat. Wow there is no vegetables anywhere, that's all I eat because my mom won't let me eat anything else. I see a colorful bag that say "Doritos" hmm corn flour chips covered in cheese? That doesn't sound to appetizing. Well I guess I will get. it it's not too expensive anyways. Now I just need to find a drink. Preferably water.
As I turn around I accidentally bump into someone, making us both drop what we're holding and fall on the ground. When I look up I see that this person is wearing black jeans that look a little tight, With a black hoodie on over there head and boots. There hoodie fell off from the impact and I can see there face perfectly. I don't know if it's just me but it is the most attractive person I've ever seen. That's funny because I haven't seen that many people in 6 years.
