Lips Of An Angel

Usagi walked tiredly towards another room and sat down in a chair, picking up his phone. He looked at the name and smiled when he read "Leon".

He answered the call and put it to his ear.

"Hey babe. Why are you calling this late? I can't talk for long." Leo's voice was breaking and he sounding like he was sobbing. Usagi sat up in his chair and his face grew concerned. "Hey, calm down. Why're you crying? Is everything okay?"

He heard Leo ask why he was whispering, and he could tell his breathing was calming down and he was slowly calming himself from crying.

The rabbit tsked and rolled his eyes. "I can't be real loud." His heart dwelled at Leo asking why. He hated they have to be separated like this.

"Well, Ambers in the next room. I wish it were you though." He could hear Leo snicker and could tell he cringed a little. "Oh shut up. I thought you were never gonna move on?" Leo's voice was teasing and quiet. Making Usagi presume he couldn't be loud either.

The rabbit chuckled and leaned back. "I guess neither of us really moved on if we're still here talking to each other every night." Leo huffed and shook his head. "You're so right, Sagi."

Usagi's heart fluttered at the name. "I love hearing you say my name. It sounds so nice coming from you." He could tell that got Leo flustered by him not answering.

"God, you really know how to woo a man, huh?" The older giggled a little and looked back into the bedroom to make sure his girlfriend was still asleep. "Hearing you get confident makes me weak, I swear." This caused them both to laugh, maybe a little too loud. Because Amber soon groaned and sat up.

"Yuichi? Who're you talking to?" Her words were slurred from sleep as she rubbed her eyes. He mentally cursed himself and brought his hand to cover the mic. "Sorry Am, it's just a friend. We were just wrapping it up. I'll be in there in a second." She smiled at him and laid back down.

He quietly groaned and moved his hand. "Sorry, I woke Amber up. I hate saying goodbye." He could hear the disappointment in Leo's voice. "Oh. Okay. Goodnight, Sagi. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

Before he could say anything else, Leo hung up. He shut his phone off and slammed it on the table, starting the girl in the other room.

"Yuichi? Are you okay?" She slid off the bed and walked next to him. He sighed and nodded. "Yeah, just a difficult person." She nodded and lead him back to the bed.

They crawled next to each other and he wrapped his arms around her waist. Wishing it were Leo's.

Lord, that boy made it hard to be loyal.

The next night, it was the same routine. He left his bed in the middle of the night to answer Leo's call.

"Hey, Leon! It's funny you're calling me tonight, I had a dream about you." Leo snickered and lichee his feet up against his bed. "Really? I dreamt of you too!" They giggled quietly for a few more moments before a question rang in Usagi's mind.

"Um, do your brothers know you're talking to me?" They had been forbidden to see each other. So Leo had to call in private. He sighed and shook his head. "No... They don't." Usagi winced and dug his nails in his arm. "Is it gonna start a fight?"

Leo shook his head again. "No I don't think so. But that's only if they find out." Usagi rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah whatever." They fell silent again before Leo spoke up, his voice sounded nervous.

"So is amber suspicious?" Usagi looked over his shoulder, just as he did the previous night and bit his lip. "No, I don't think she has a clue. She's pretty oblivious." Leo gasped and if they were together, he would've smacked his arm. "Be nice!"

Usagi covered his face while he giggled again. "Sorry! Sorry..." Leo's brow raised and he looked at the phone before putting it back to his ear. "Why're you being quiet again?" Usagi peeled at his finger nails and swallowed a lump in his throat.

"Ambers still in the next room, baby. You know I wish it was you instead." Leo nodded and stayed quiet. "Today Raph told me I need to stop being depressed and move on, like you. Though you never moved on, Sagi." The older snickered and spun in his chair. "I love it when you call me that."

The turtle smiled and hid his flushed face, from no one in particular. "You know, Leo. You're like an Angel to me." Leo's eyes widened and his face lit up. "That made me feel so weak-." He giggled nervously and flopped on his bed.

Usagi suddenly jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Yuichi?" It was Amber. Her eyes were filled with tears and she looked at him confused. "Who are you really talking to?"

The rabbit cursed himself and turned away quickly. "Sorry, Leo. I have to go. I'll call you later." And with that he quickly hung up and stood.

"Baby, it's not what you think-." He was cut off with a hand. "Please don't. Yuichi, if you don't want to be in this relationship, then don't. Please don't lead me on." Her voice started breaking and Usagi felt so bad.

He never intended to hurt her. He tried to step closer to her, but she stepped away. "Amber, it's not like that." She wiped her face and looked at her hand as if she hadn't realized she was crying. "You're lying. Yuichi please just leave me if you don't want me." He winced quietly and brought his hands out to hold hers.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry Amber. I did love you at the start, I didn't want to hurt you by leaving. But i see that this hurts more. I'm sorry." Amber was a very kind girl. She was sympathetic also. Which meant she knew he was actually sorry. She huffed and took her hands away, wiping her face for the last time tonight.

"Go find somewhere to stay for tonight. You can come back tomorrow and we'll sort this out." Usagi's eyes lit up and he smiled at her. "Thank you, Amber." She smiled weakly at him and shoved him. "You're a dork. Now get out of my apartment." They snickered and he left.

He didn't have anywhere to go.

But maybe he did.

Leo woke up and rubbed his eyes. He quietly groaned at the contact named; "Sagi🩵" that popped up. He debated on if he should answer it, considering how rudely he hung up earlier.

But eventually, before it stopped ringing, he pressed the green button and put it to his ear.

"Why're you calling me so late, Sagi?"
