Chapter 21 - Awkward

"So what are we gonna do today?" I eagerly ask Charlie.

He shrugs absentmindedly before turning to Reece.

"Shall we go see a movie or something?" Reece suggests, glancing over to me for approval.

"Yeah, I don't mind." I smile sweetly at them both before running my hand through my chocolate brown hair and twirling it - a very stupid thing to do, I know.

"I guess it's two against one so I have no choice." Charlie winks at me, sliding his sunglasses onto his face.

Cinemas are an excuse for holding hands and cuddling so I have no objections.

Julie drops us all off at the shopping centre closest to Charlie's house. Reece puts his arm around my shoulders as we walk towards the doors on the building. I notice Charlie glance over to us both then back in the direction he's going.

"Pitch Perfect 2 comes out today!" He whispers to me since he knows I've been so exited for it to come out in the cinemas.

I let out a tiny squeal causing Reece to jump.

"God Ella, you scared me." He says mid laughing.

All three of us journey into the cinema and pay for tickets to see the 2pm showing of Pitch Perfect 2.

I check my phone for the time which is 1:25.

"What time do they let us inside?" Reece enquires.

"1:35." Charlie replies after checking his receipt.

"Charlie..." I bat my eyelashes.

"-buy your own popcorn!" He sticks his tongue out at me jokingly.

I gently slap his knee and pout, Charlie sighs before getting his wallet out of his back pocket. He moves his wallet closer to me however just as I go to pick it up he grabs it and laughs.

"You're so mean." I whine.

"Ella you've got 5 minutes before they let us in and you have money...just buy some damn popcorn." Charlie emphasises the 'damn' making me laugh. Reluctantly, I hoist myself out of the chair and over to the till.

"Can I have a medium sweet and salty popcorn please?" I politely ask, smiling sweetly.

"Sure." The man at the till grins, he's pretty attractive and has one of those smiles that makes a girl melt. He brings back a pretty large tub of hot popcorn and hands it to me over the counter.

"Enjoy your film." He grins. I dash him a thank you smile before heading back over to the boys who are stood in the queue.

"Did you both miss me?" I wink.

"Oh yeah, heartbroken I was until you came back." Reece clutches his heart and pretends to cry.

Charlie nudges him. "Man up." He jokes.

The cinema ushers open the gate for us allowing us to pass into the cinema room. Reece leads and me and Charlie follow behind him. The room is very dim lit with a massive light at the front. Reece walks us all over to the row third from the back and sits down, followed by me and then Charlie on the end.

The lights then go down and movie starts shortly after. Up until the middle of the movie the audience repeatedly keep turning round to stare at Charlie who's sat in his own little world singing away. Slyly, I take out my phone and record him before putting it on snapchat and saving it to my camera roll to use as blackmail. Just as I lock my phone Reece places his hand on my side of the arm rest but carries on looking at the screen. I sort of stare at his hand, without knowing whether to hold it or not. However, Reece then does the whole cliche yawn and make a move in the cinema act that's always done in movies. Although I find it very cliche, I still find it cute so I play along and rest my head on his shoulder. He places a small kiss on my forehead before turning back to watch the movie.
