Chapter 15 - Love you too, G

After school ends, I walk outside towards to canteen to wait for Grace and Zac since they both live quite near to my house. I don't have to wait for long as they arrive almost as soon as I do.

We begin to walk out of the rather large metal gates the surround the school. I place one earphone in my ear and leave the other to dangle.

"I'm fucking starving." Zac chants angrily, his stomach growls.

"Same." I sigh.

"Touché." Grace giggles.

"There's a chippy that opened up down the road from here, if we take the long way we can stop there and get food?" I suggest.

To be honest I'm definitely in the mood for a chip butty.

"I have no money." Grace whines, slinging her brown handbag over her shoulder.

"I'll pay for you then..." I link arms with Grace and we skip down the road, Zac trailing along behind us both.

"It's times like this, I miss Charlie so much." He moans whilst me and Grace giggle to ourselves at our own little personal jokes.

"What was that?" I pretend I didn't hear what Zac just said, even though it was perfectly clear.

"Oh nothing babe." Zac turns around and winks since he finally catches up to us.

I gently shove him to get him back for calling me babe since he knows that I hate the word.

"Shut up Zac!" I laugh as we enter the chip shop. My stomach grumbles and groans. The aroma of chips fills my nostrils and tickles my taste buds.

"Can I have two chip butties?" I say as I hand over a crisp £5 note. The woman over the counter picks up the note before shoving it in the cash register.

Zac orders the same as us so we all sit on the bench and wait for them to be made.

"Have you spoken to him today?" She whispers so Zac doesn't hear. We both decide not to tell the boys just yet incase one of them tells Charlie. The last thing I want to do is ruin anybody's friendships.

"He texted me this morning but that's it." I smile faintly, to be honest Im starting to really miss Reece being around.

"What's up?" Zac asks curiously, holding the food we ordered. I take two of them and hand one to Grace.

"Oh nothing." My voice almost sounds like a whisper.

We leave the chip shop and begin to head home.

My phone buzzes as a call from Reece comes through.

Grace notices my phone buzzing and she leans in to look at it.

"Is that him?" She whispers.

"Mmmhmm..." I nod.

"Answer it." She nudges me.

"But what do I say." I nervously stare at my phone until Reece cuts it off.

"If he rings back, I'll speak to him." I say, silently hoping that he doesn't call back but not long after, there is a buzzing coming from my phone. Nervously, I press the accept button. The time it takes to connect feels like a lifetime but finally Reece's face appears on my screen.

"Ella!!" Reece shouts, a huge smile beaming on his face. "How are you?"

"I'm good thanks, are you?" I grin as I speak to Reece.

"Hey Reece!!!" Grace shouts from next to me, she squeezes her face into the camera before waving at him.

He chuckles to himself and waves back to her.

"I'm good thanks, I miss you." He smiles faintly.

"You're seeing me this weekend." I giggle.

"But Saturday feels like so far away." Reece groans.

"You're that Reece from X Factor?" Zac asks, moving his head into the camera's view as well.

"I am that Reece." He smirks.

"Zac, Grace, meet Reece..Reece meet Zac and Grace."

There are a number of 'Hi's' and 'Hey's' said between them all before Reece turns back to speak to me.

"I can see you're a bit busy, so I'll ring back later."

Reece is so sweet. I smile and wave before ending the FaceTime call.

We get to the top of Zac's street.

"Bye girls." He grins before engulfing us both into one gigantic hug.

Zac heads of down his street, so me and Grace carry on walking.

"You and Reece are so cute." She starts to giggle.

I look at her in disbelief.

"He doesn't even like me..." I sigh.

"He does, you can by the way he looks at you that he's literally head over heals for you."

I shake my head.

"Ella!! I'm not joking, the way he looks at you is adorable. I wish Charlie would look at me like that." Grace's cheery time changes quickly to a quieter one.

"Charlie adores you G. I'm sure he does like you in that way as well." I stop and hug her, since we've reached my house.

"I love you E." She hugs me back tightly.

"Love you too, G."

Blair and Serena are the photo for this chapter because I imagine Grace and Ella as the typical every blonde needs brunette best friend. Bear in mind Grace and Ella are a bit younger than Blair and Serena however I thought this photo fitted in well with the ending of the chapter.
