Chapter 27 - Home Sweet Home

I'm woken up by the repeated chiming of my phone. Sleepily, I roll over to where my phone is charging and pick it up, noticing 5 missed calls from the one and only...Reece Bibby! He also has left about a dozen messages which i really cannot be bothered to read therefore I just ring him back.

The phone beeps twice before the call is answered.

"Hello?" I whisper into the receiver, hoping I'm loud enough for Reece to hear. The rest of my family are asleep therefore I don't really want to wake them.

"Hey babe." He mumbles. His voice sounds sleepy, like he hasn't slept properly in a while.

"You okay?" I shift myself to the edge of my bed where it is a lot lot cooler.

"Mmmhmm, just a bit tired but I'll sleep it off on the plane." Reece mumbles again before clearing his throat coughing loudly.

"See if you can squeeze in an extra 10 minutes sleep now, I'll hang up." I say half-heartedly, to be honest I don't want to hang up at all but I can tell how tired he is.

"No no, I'll be fine don't worry. We leave hotel in an hour so I'll just sleep in the car." He says sternly. I just leave him to do what he wants but he really doesn't sound himself making me quite worried.

"Oh okay then, have you found out the news yet?" I ask curiously, I guess since they're getting ready to leave they must have but I thought I'd ask just in case.

"Maybe..." I can sense the smugness in his voice as he speaks, highlighting that he's most likely smirking.

"Well...are you going to tell me?" I giggle as I kick the duvet away from my boiling hot body.

"No, not yet anyway, it's a surprise babe." He says smugly.

Normally I would object to him calling me babe but to be honest, I've missed him so much and it's great to speak to him.

"You're so horrible, leaving me for hours waiting for you to arrive so you can tell me how you did." I joke.

Surely I am a bit gutted he didn't tell me straight away but at least it gives me more to look forward to.

"I love you." He whispers down the phone in a cheery accent.

"You've changed your tone, you sound real happy and exited, you were depressed and bored about 10 minutes ago." I giggle as I speak, but it is true. He was all sleepy and now he's chirping like a bird.

"Of course I'm happy you idiot, I get to see you!!!" He practically shouts down the phone

"Aw you're so cute!" I grin from ear - to - ear, I honestly can't wait to see him.

"Who you talking to?" I hear Charlie's deeper voice in the background.

"Ella..." Reece whispers to him.

"Oh hey Ell!!" He shouts.

"Hey Charlie!! How are you?" I shout back, forgetting that the rest of my family are asleep.

"Not too bad, but quick heads up for when we come back, you're boyfriend is such a terror to share a bed with." He announces in a loud tone of voice.

"Wait, why were you sharing a bed?" I raise an eyebrow, before giggling uncontrollably.

"Oh because we were watching a film and Reece got the big bed and then I fell asleep." Charlie explains, however no matter how hard he tries I still find it hilarious.
