S O O N came the end of the Hogwarts term. Some students raced to pack up their things, wanting to return home, while others dreaded the idea of going back.
It was time for some to rest, time for some to work, and time for some to uncover secrets they never knew existed.
Evanora wished Alexa and her two snakes a good summer before she and Tanzanite left. Returning to Emrys Manor, her arrival was greeted by Aramis.
She looked forward to resting a bit, but unfortunately, she could not. Peter Pettigrew's trial was in a matter of hours. Both she and Sirius had to be there, having agreed to meet at the trial.
Personally, she truly didn't understand why he needed a trial when he admitted he was guilty. She assumed it was just the minister wanting to keep Sirius behind bars. If word got out that the situation had changed and almost everything everyone knew about what happened that horrid night wasn't true, the wizarding community would start to question what else isn't true.
Even if there was a trial, and by some chance, Peter didn't go to Azkaban, there would still be a newspaper article about it the next morning. She changed into something a little more formal before heading to the Ministry.

"Uncle, good to see you again. You're looking healthier, a lot more put together." She observed his appearance.
His skin had smoothed out, he had his hair styled, and he had caught up on some much-needed sleep.
"Thank you, Evanora. How are you liking the Ministry?"
The uncle and niece stood outside the trial, waiting until they could go in.
"It's certainly an interesting-looking place." She ran her finger down the wall, then rubbed her fingers together to get rid of the dust.
"Your mother worked here. Not many knew who the head of the Department of Mysteries was. She's the reason why we understand prophecies and a few other things. Wizards were quite stupid back then."
"They're still stupid now. Just look at who the Minister is; he's a complete joke. I'm surprised how people don't laugh at him when they see him."
"Yes, well, just don't say that aloud. A lot of people support him, though that might change after today."
The doors to the trial opened, and the two were finally able to go in.
"These are two witnesses who said Peter Pettigrew is the one who gave You-Know-Who James and Lily Potter's location and caused them to be killed," one of the Wizengamot announced. "Is there anything you'd like to add before we decide?"
"I'd like to hear what was said while we weren't in the room," Evanora said.
The court scribe began reading off everything that was said down to the last second.
"I think that's good—anything you'd like to add, Sirius?"
"I hope he has fun in Azkaban."
"Then we have decided. Peter Pettigrew is guilty and will be put in Azkaban immediately, and Sirius Black is free of all charges that were applied to him. We can't give your wand back because it was snapped."
Aurors came out and grabbed Peter, dragging him away. Sirius and Evanora left, both relieved that the trial didn't go south.
"This is where I leave, Evanora; I must see to it that my old home is still in shape. If you need me, owl me. Just know that I'm proud of you."
"Thank you, uncle. Take care of yourself."
She Floo'd back to the manor.
"All right, time to start searching."
