T H E first part of the tournament was about to begin. Alexa and Evanora stood with Harry on the field. Evanora turned to him. "Dragons understand Parseltongue, Harry. If you need to use it, go ahead. Good luck." Tanzanite blew a breath of fire from Evanora's shoulder.
Being a Dragonlord and a Parseltongue were very similar, like cousins with a slight change in the tongue position.
"Try not to die," Alexa patted his shoulder. The two then left for the stands, leaving Harry to enter the tent where the other champions were waiting.
"Chatting with Potter, are we, Evanora?" Draco commented as they took their seats in the stands.
"At least he didn't get turned into a ferret," Evanora retorted, reminding him of their recent encounter.
Everyone watched as each champion came out. Evanora was relieved that none of the champions had harmed any of the unhatched dragon eggs.
A mother's wrath was something Evanora knew she couldn't stop. No one can stop a mother when it comes to her children, human or not.
Then it was Harry's turn to take his place in the arena. Everyone watched as Harry stood at the edge, facing the massive Hungarian Horntail dragon. Its scales shimmered under the sunlight, and its eyes glinted with a dangerous intelligence.
With a deep breath, Harry focused his magic, feeling the power of water flow through him. He raised his wand, ready to face the dragon. It took him a while to get the hang of his Parselmagic element, but he managed. As the Horntail lunged towards him, Harry's instincts kicked in, and he dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding its claws.
Using his Parseltongue language, Harry spoke to the dragon, calming it with soothing words. "I don't want to hurt you."
The dragon seemed to understand, its movements becoming less aggressive. Harry took this opportunity to make his move, summoning a powerful wave of water to distract the dragon.
As the dragon dealt with the water, Harry sprinted towards the golden egg, his heart pounding in his chest. He reached out, grabbing the egg just as the dragon recovered and roared in anger.
With a quick glance back, Harry saw the dragon preparing to attack again. He knew he had to act fast. Channeling his water magic, he created a barrier of water between him and the dragon, buying him enough time to escape.
As he made his way out of the arena, the crowd erupted into cheers.
Evanora and Alexa stood among the crowd, clapping, before leaving to check on the dragons.
Evanora approached Charlie. "You'll make sure they're taken care of?"
"Yes, Ms. Emrys," Charlie said as he started packing everything for his trip back.
"Thank you."
Evanora then walked over to where Alexa was.
"Lady Emrys, we see you brought The Queen of the Serpents with you," the Horntail dragon stated.
"Did she say Queen of Serpents?" Alexa asked. "How's that possible?" She looked at the two snakes wrapped around her.
"You'll know in time, young Queen," the green dragon told her.
"We thank you for making sure our children weren't hurt. We're forever in your and your dragon's debt," the Chinese Fireball announced.
"You're welcome. Have a safe trip home."
Evanora and Alexa bowed to the dragons before leaving for the castle with Tanzanite following.
Later that night, they congratulated Harry on his win before letting him return to the party his house was hosting for him.
