"I don't wanna come off as too casual." Changbin groaned and looked at himself in the mirror.
"You are literally wearing a suit!" Jisung commented while scrolling through his phone.
Today was a gala at some fancy restaurant Riley had invited Changbin too. It was for business because the twins would take over a partner company which sold them their part.
Back when Riley and Changbin were a couple, he would always go to any business events with her, knowing how uncomfortable she became being crowds and in the spotlight.
When Riley had told him about this one he just hoped it would be bearable for her because Millie was there. Never would he have expected for Riley to shyly ask him to accompany her.
Changbin of course didn't hesitate, he was happy as long as he was with Riley and could make sure she was safe.
Giving himself a last glance in the mirror, Changbin left his room and stayed in the living room, waiting for Riley to arrive.
Minutes later the doorbell rung and Changbin sprinted down the stairs of the bulding to reach the main entrance. Just before opening the door, he checked his appearance in the hallway mirror.
Outside was Riley and Changbin's eyes widened at her look. She was beautiful, more than beautiful if you asked Changbin.
She wore a black cocktail dress that made a perfect show of her fragile figure.
Riley's silent giggle pulled Changbin back to reality and he immediatly flushed bright red. "You look gorgeous" He stammered and only received another giggle as response.
Normally, Changbin held giggles to be annoying and 'pick-me' but Riley's sounded so sincere that Changbin's heart swelled every damn time.
He shyly held his arm out for Riley to link hers with while still avoiding her eyes. Riley linked their arms and lead them to the waiting limousine.
Riley leaned into Changbin's body and whispered: "You don't look too bad yourself."
In Changbin's short moment of shock, they had reached the car and Riley had climbed in followed by Changbin.
"Hey Changbin! Long time no see!" Another voice, Millie, greeted him. He knew that the latter was mocking him because Riley and he had done a lot together in the past weeks, often as a trio together with Millie. But he also knew the teasing was just that, teasing. Millie had actualy pulled him aside the first time they spoke and said that she was thankful for him for being back in her twin's life.
Changbin appreciated Millie probably more than the latter assumed, so he made a mental note to let her know in the future.
Riley sat in the middle of the two and the closer they got, the more nervous she became.
Changbin could see how Riley had clutched Millie's hand in hers but as soon as her leg started shaking he put his hand on her knee out of instinct.
He rubbed it comfortingly, not thinking about possibly overstepping anything. Riley almost immediatly relaxed and Millie just smiled fondly at the two. Even though the two ex-lovers were completely unaware it was obvious for Millie that they still cared deeply about each other, still loved each other.
"We're here!" Millie announced when the car had stopped and Changbin was the first to go out. He turned back around to offer Riley a helping hand.
"What a gentleman" Riley teased and stepped a few feet away from the car. Changbin turned back to do the same with Millie but the latter ignored his hand.
"Go to her, I'll be fine but she needs you" Millie ushered and walked into the building after quickly rubbing Riley's shoulder.
"You ready to go in?"Changbin had joined Riley's side and caressed her arm comfortingly.
