One quick glance, he didn't want to be obvious that he had been staring at her, they sat in his car, it was filled with tension and the slight sound of her breathing. He held his breath, as though letting it go would mean he had to admit that they were through. That was the furthest thing from what he wanted but when do you stop if the limit had already been pushed?
"Look, Erl, I think I should be going." She spoke gently, watching his face scrunch into a frown. "All the best though, eh?"
He kept his gaze ahead, on the building he was parked facing. He didn't want to watch her, as she walked back into her building, knowing that it would be his last glimpse of her.
