“You’re alive? Where have you been?” Lane demands, while trying to fight the tears that were threatening to fall.

“They took Lex and I to New Orleans, LA. Something called Wood Sac.” Grace tells Lane timidly,

“The Feds? Because of what Dane did?” Lane softly asks,

“Yes, they faked our deaths for our and your safety.” Relief and then anger came across Lane’s face,

“Ok. I understand. But they could of at least told me. I wouldn’t of minded being separated. But I was told that you were dead. I’ve been grieving for you and Lex.”

Lane snaps, raising to the point Tammy raises her brow warning regarding  drawing attention.

“Gov. Lane, I understand this is a shock for ou. I’m Agent Tammy Givens. Maybe tomorrow, we can talk about this in more detail in a private location.” Lane thought for a moment.” Lane nods,

“How about 10am tomorrow. I will clear my schedule for the day. I want to meet at your location. Because my Board of Directors is trying to marry me off. There are six women at the mansion trying to compete for my consideration. That’s why I’m here tonight. This lady won a date. I agree too many ears are here.” Lane states seriously, as anger starts to boil inside of Grace.

“They haven’t given you a fair chance to grieve. With me alive, what happens now? Lane gives  her hand a soft, yet firm  squeeze.

“We can plan to talk about everything tomorrow when I see you. Here’s my number for the four of you. I may bring Oaklee and Dean will be with me.” Lane cups Grace’s cheek, as Dwayne and Lex come over. Lane kisses Grace tenderly,

“I so missed you my sweet Grace. Hello brother. How are you?” Lane says seeing Lex, who’s behind Grace. He hugs his brother warmly,

“I’ll see you two tomorrow. I have a lot of questions for all of you.” Lane smiles at them,

“We’ll have answers for you.” Lane nods seeing Cassandra coming out of the bathroom, as The waitress sats the table’s food down.

“Miss. Please put their orders on my tab. Their dinner’s on me. I love you Grace. I’ll see you two tomorrow.” Lane gives Grace a quick peck on her lips, heading back to his table. He assist Cassandra by pushing her chair in for her.

“Lane, who were you talking to?” Lane slightly blushes, but quickly masks it.
“People I know. Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about.” Cassandra smiles at him,.

“I was just  wondering, because you seem very distracted.” Lane gives her a small smile as their food arrives, he whispers something to the waitress who nods smiling.

“I apologize. I hadn’t seen then in awhile. It made me happy to see them. Please tell me Cassandra, what  is your desire to see happen on these dates? Eith single or individual or group dates?”  Cassandra thinks for a few moments before she responds,

“I really like you a lot, Lane. I sense there’s a lot of chemistry between us. I want to help you get through your grieving, as I get to know you better.” Lane nods as he takes a drink,

“I’ll let you know Cassandra, this is a very difficult time for me. It’s been barely over thirty days since I lost Grace and Lex. I’m still grieving.” Lane looks past Cassandra, seeing Grace play with her food.

“I know you are, Lane. I want to help.” Lane arches his brow, as Cassandra squeezes his hand. Lane pulls his hand quickly, noticing that Grace’s glancing his way.

“How would you do that, Cassandra?”
Cassandra was very thrown by Lane’s tone,

“Getting to know you, by spending time with you. I want to help you.see that there’s life after Grace. Doesn’t mean that you’ll forget her, or the memories that you’ve shared with her. Lane, I’ve started falling for you.” Lane gives her a questioning look,

“Interesting. What are your long term goals?”  Cassandra clears her throat, as Lane’s heart falls as Grace’s group gets up to leave.

“I do want to help the poor in some way. But regarding us… I want to see how far we can take this relationship. I really do want to be close to you. It’ll be easy to fall in love with you.” At this point, Lane wasn’t sure what to think.

Wow, interesting. Sounds like you got everything planned out.” Cassandra nods with a smile,

“It’s how I feel.. I’ll move at your pace as you heal from your grief of losing Grace.”

Woman, here’s the rub. There’s no healing needed. Grace and Lex are alive!

“Okay. For your long term, what do you see?” Lane asks, as he tries to figure out how to wrap up the date.

“Long term, I can see us married with several children. Plus I can see you as President one day.” Lane nearly chokes on his last  bite of desert at her words,

“Sounds like you have everything planned out. If I were to pick you.” Cassandra chuckles, Lane stands up extending his hand towards Cassandra,

“On that note, let’s call it a night.” Cassandra felt confused at his statement, but she smiles at him as she takes his hand.

“Alright, I really enjoyed our evening, Lane.” Cassandra states as as she thinks….

I wonder how I prolong this date for longer.

Cassandra wonders as they walk towards the limo. As they ride towards the mansion, Cassandra tries to engage in conversation. With no avail, Lane doesn’t respond due to texting Dean and Oaklee to meet him in his private quarters.
