I Love You.

"Love you sweetheart," Wesley said this phrase so often that one would believe Deborah would get used to it, or understand it. Unfortunately that was not the case.

"Wesley..." Deborah hesitated, "why do you love me...?" She sounded so confused and exposed asking the question. The room had become so quiet, so quiet that you could practically hear Wesley's heart shatter in a million different pieces.

How could his love not realize why he loved her so dearly? How could she not understand that she was the first woman he had ever wanted to spend the rest of his life with? How could her own parents not even teach her that she was lovable.

"How could I not love you dear?" Wesley asked her, "You are a brilliant woman with so much potential to do amazing things for this world. You are kind and sweet towards everyone you care about. You're independent. You're so stubborn, and protective, or..." Wesley wasn't done, but Deborah looked like she needed a moment to process all the information she had been given.

"Or...?" Her voice was shaky. She was so focused on him that she jumped when the kettle screamed at her.

"Or ... if you are asking about what I love about your physical appearance" Wesley provided as she set the kettle off of the heat and turned off the oven. "If that's the case Then; I love the way you put your hair up in a ponytail; and when you put your hair down as well. The way your dimples disappear when you get angry and come back when you're excited. Your eyes remind me of a green emerald, full of beauty and great strength, yet even a jewel can't even begin to compare in my personal opinion, especially when you make a discovery in the lab. I must say that your height is also very pleasing, no matter how much you dislike it. I love how I can pull you against my chest and lay my head on top of yours, or place a kiss on your forehead."

Wesley could have continued. He wanted to continue, but he did not believe Deborah could handle more. She was blushing and crying—no, she was sobbing violently. She was not used to this amount of love from one person, nor even multiple people. Wesley will forever hold a grudge against her parents for not giving her the love both her and her brother deserved, especially towards her father for hurting her for so many years of her childhood. Maybe if her parents had cared for both of their children things would be different now.

Wesley shoved that thought process to the back of his mind, forcing himself to give his complete and full attention to his distressed lover.

He held his arms out in an offering, knowing she might have been too overwhelmed for a bear hug, or any type of physical contact at all. Yet she accepted his offer, shuffling herself out of her kitchen and into his chest. She laid her forehead over his heart, hugging herself as she continued to sob. He made no move to make the hug too much for her, he just gently put his hands on her back.

Wesley would admit to no one but Deborah that he had shed a few tears as well. He did not tell her this until a couple of weeks after though.

It felt like hours before she was able to calm down, Wesley didn't mind even for a second. He stood there lightly holding her in his arms being as comforting as he could without overwhelming her even more. His legs began to hurt after a while and he could imagine her's did as well.

"Do you want to sit down...?" He spoke softly, which seemed to only make her cry a bit more but she was able to nod her head.

Slowly he pulled her over to her bed, spinning them around so she could sit down on the bed. Once she was seated, he knelt down in front of her taking her smaller hands in his larger. He was still holding her like she was a thin glass flower, fragile and very small.

Her moist eyes met his own and he felt like he was on top of the world. He did not enjoy seeing his darling so distressed like this, but he did have a great amount of pride in the fact she allowed him to see her like this. Most times she was upset she would go and hide, not wanting others to see her so vulnerable, but Wesley was an exception.

Sometimes.

"Deborah... I apologize for overwhelming you like this. But I needed you to understand, understand that I do love you so much. I can't imagine how you could not realize how madly in love with you I truly am," he chuckled to himself, "Deborah I am so madly in love with you that I barely stand the thought of being away from you..."

"Wes..." Wesley Nathaniel, in his one year of dating the woman in front of him had never seen her quite this emotional before. "I... I love you too..." He smiled brightly.

He leaned forward just enough for her, allowing her to swat him away. She did not, rather she leaned her head against his. Their noses brushed against the others.

"I know Love..."
