"And why the hell are you in just a robe?"

My mouth opened and closed like an idiot, because I was too in shock to say anything. I didn't prepare anything for when this would happen but now, I'm wishing I did. Mason was looking at me, with not a thing to say.

God, I feel like a little kid that just got caught doing something they weren't supposed to.

"Alright... I can pretty much see the gears turning in your head," I slowly spoke, adjusting my robe a bit.

"Are you... are you sleeping with him?" Clyde quickly asked, looking at me once more.

"I'm not just sleeping with him. It's not a hookup, we- we got back together."

"Back together. Tell me it's an April fool's joke, Lyra," he chuckled.

"No, it isn't. He explained himself and was willing to wait until I was ready to trust him again. He won't make the same mistake."

"You don't know that for sure-"

"And neither do you! I felt the pain firsthand, you only witnessed it, Clyde."

Clyde ignored my statement, moving his eyes towards Mason. "What'd he do? Coax you? Manipulate you or something?"

"That's bullshit, I'd never do that to her," Mason chimed in.

"Well, I sure wouldn't pass you after the damage you've caused her."

"Enough! You both sound like children. Clyde, out of my damn room. If you want to talk then we can talk out there."

He clenched his jaw then stormed out. I released a breath before turning back towards Mason, grabbing his hand.

"Don't let him get you riled up, okay?" I said quietly, kissing his knuckles. He hummed quietly then nodded, kissing my forehead.

I gave him a small smile then walked out, shutting the door behind me. Clyde was leaning against the counter, rolling up his sleeves. I can practically feel the anger radiating off of his body once I made my way towards him.

Sitting at the stool is what finally made him turn my way. If almost catching me in the act wasn't awkward enough, this just added to the damn cake. I crossed my arms, waiting for him to speak. I didn't forget that he kept my brother from me for all these years, so I was far from happy to have this man in my house, let alone in my presence.

"You're not going to say anything?" He finally spoke up.

"Why the hell should I say anything when you barged into my house?"

"The house I gave to you."

An eyebrow raised as I scoffed. "Really? We're going down that road now?"

He sighed, running a hand down his face. "No. I don't like the idea of you with him."

"You didn't like the idea three years ago either, Clyde. Honestly, I could care less about what you think about my choices."

"Since he's been back, you've been lying and disrespecting me, Lyra."

"It was one lie, and the disrespect is nonexistent. You should know all about lying, huh?"
