LYRA

"Thanks, Griffin, you're a lifesaver," I spoke into the phone, turning onto the next street.

"No problem. I'll be waiting for you two."

He hung up soon after and I placed my phone in the cupholder beside me, adjusting so I was sitting up straighter.

"You sure you want to be in the same proximity as Clyde? Especially after everything that's happened?" Noah asked, glancing over to me.

"We need things out of there. Besides, I can't avoid him forever."

As much as I want to.

"True... but you haven't talked since the mysterious brother thing. There's no telling how that'll go down when or if you see him."

"Which is why we're going to go in there, get what we need, maybe do a bit of target practice and leave," I told him, glancing at him.

Noah nodded, but he didn't look completely sure. I didn't blame him. There's still a grudge being held by me, and it's definitely gotten worse. I thought the distance would extinguish the flame, but instead it grew larger.

Did I want to see Clyde? No. Talk to him? Absolutely not. But if it happens when I get there, then it'll happen. If not, then it won't. I don't know what else Clyde has kept from me, but keeping Isaac from me was enough to send me into a spiral.

That's one of the many reasons why my mind is running at full speed, at the thought of actually seeing my parents. It's usually easy for me to keep my thoughts and emotions at bay no matter what the situation is. But this whole thing has my feathers ruffled.

And it is obvious. I'm pretty sure everyone has noticed that I'm on edge. Bound to snap any moment.

"How're you feeling?" Noah asked.

"Anxious for the most part. Physically, I feel okay. I'm walking without a limp, and I can close my fist without an issue. I'm just still working on getting my energy back." I said, turning into the parking lot.

"One step at a time, you know?" Noah said with a smile, gently nudging me. "And you know I'm always here for you."

"I know," I sighed, nodding. "Let's go and get this over with it."

I took my keys out of the ignition and stepped out, stretching my legs a bit before walking inside. Noah held the door open for me then trailed in after me, shoving his hands in his pockets. I looked around, waving and nodding at the ones who greeted me. It was weird seeing everyone in here again after so long of not coming in.

And with the looks I've gotten towards my bandages; it is obvious that they think the same. I shook it off and went into the weapons room, smiling when Griffin stood up.

"She's back and well," he chuckled, hugging me tightly. "Are you doing alright?"

"I'm better."

"That's better than nothing. Good to see you out of a hospital bed," he teased.

I narrowed my eyes at him playfully then walked over to the wall he had ready for us. Noah closed the door then jogged over to the us, his eyes scanning over the weapons.
