Around twenty minutes passed in utter chaos as you settled into your new room, breaking your back for your nice bed, comparable to sleeping on the floor. You dedicated yourself to trying to ignore the screams and the alarm while you looked at the ceiling thinking of new plans and inventions until your train of thought was cut by a sound too close.

A small clink followed by a screeching of metal scraping across the floor, you sat up to look ahead to find Bonney grinning at you cheekily, twirling your cell keys between her fingers as she pointed out, waiting for you to get out of the small space.

"I am not so cruel to leave behind someone who has helped me without asking for anything in return, besides I won't bother you anymore, I have released my crew, if you want to leave without being discovered now is your moment but we don't have much time."

You blinked watching her figure, well, you didn't expect this, you honestly thought that she was going to leave you here once she completed her purpose, it made you smile unconsciously, although she was also surprised when you approached and patted her shoulder, slowly denying with head.

"Thanks Bonney, but I think I'm going to do my time, I don't want any trouble with the marines, and I need to do some paperwork with them."

"Are you serious?"

Her brow furrowed, grabbing your wrist, you felt a little tug but it didn't move much more than a couple of steps, you looked at her back as screams were heard getting closer, she looked over her shoulder at you still with a slight frown.

"Are you... sure? They don't always treat people well here, even if you don't get in trouble, most of them are idiots."

"I've had to deal with idiots all my life, I don't think they'll surprise me here."

She sighed loudly, slowly letting go of your wrist, you backed back into your cell however a hand gripped your chin firmly, lifting your face to be even with hers, you were immediately nervous at the closeness but just smiled nervously.

"Is this a farewell?"

"I suppose, although we could meet again, I'll give you a friend's discount in my mobile store."

Her lips curved into a smile, trying to hold back a light laugh, her thumb caressing your right cheek slowly as she seemed to get closer and closer to you, however the moment was broken by nearby voices.

"This way commander!"

"Check the cells at the end and make a report of all the prisoners!"

"Here, they are trying to escape!"

You looked behind Bonney just as she looked back, even though you couldn't see the cadets, you knew they were just around the corner, you needed to get back to your cell and Bonney get out before they catch her, you looked at each other again for a second before she made the last move.

"I would like to say goodbye properly, but I'll settle for now honey" her lips kissed the corner of yours quickly, she pushed you slightly towards your cell, giving you a smile "Don't worry about your... eh, flying thing, it's fine or less well, I hid it in the north of the island, in a cave, I hope to see you again, partner!"

As if everything you wanted to say died on the tip of your tongue, you just shut up watching how she disappeared into the little chaos that was left at the base, although it was worrying to hear that your baby was "fine more or less", you didn't even have time to analyzing everything that had just happened in the last five minutes, a bunch of armed men came in pointing at anything that moved.

You raised your hands to let them know you wouldn't try anything, they handcuffed you and escorted you to what seemed to be a large mess hall where there were a large number of prisoners, some with injuries, some with scratches and some intact just like you. They made a tally to estimate the people who escaped, after that you just went back to your cell, you hoped you had at least made a good impression by not escaping since your cell door was open when they arrived.

After that little accident, nothing much more relevant happened for the next three days, just wake up, draw little scribbles on the wall with a piece of stone that you picked up the first day in the yard, do some exercise, do the tasks that you they ordered ─ which ranged from picking up the garbage to washing the dirty dishes ─ to return to the cell and sleep.

However, on the fourth day they woke you up before the established time, you were all confused as to why, but you simply could not question anything, they ordered you to be presentable and clean the entire barracks from top to bottom, luckily you didn't have to do the bathrooms, although cleaning the cells in sector C was something similar.

"Yeah, according to the commanders, he will come personally..."

"A warlord? Why would he want to come here? We don't even have guys with big bounties here."

"I don't know, apparently he was looking for someone."

"Maybe he wants lab rats to use with all that of- what do you think you're doing? Did someone tell you to take a break?"

"Sorry, I hope none of you experience what scoliosis is, I'll get back to work."

You apologized by exaggerating your little back pain, you weren't resting, you were just listening to the conversation of two of the guards who were watching you and the other guy they had sent to clean with you, so they had you like this because apparently an important guy was coming, a warlord? The only one you know is Mihawks, but what little you know is that he wouldn't want to come to a place like this even if he had to find someone, at least not if that someone was Shanks.

"Do you know who they were talking about?"

You put your thoughts aside when you saw how your partner approached, muttering as he passed the broom to your side, you shrugged answering in a whisper, the guy seemed absorbed in his mind for a few seconds before looking at you.

"It's better that you don't call his attention, that man is not good news."

"Why the hell would you warn me?" We haven't even seen each other beyond community services."

"You have to do a good deed a year, and I wouldn't like to share you..."

You walked away quickly, sweeping further away from him when he said that and he started laughing as if he had told the funniest joke in human existence, your eyebrows crinkling in utter disgust and for once you were glad the guards used their figure of power to hit him with the butts of their pistols to silence him.

"Disgusting..."

You muttered to yourself, refocusing on your work not wanting to look at that guy again or listen to him, it's not like you stood out much so you thought you'd be fine, what chance was there that warlord was looking for you? You didn't even know who he was, the chances that if he wanted to know who you were, were minimal.
