Chapter 15

"jungkook wake up" jungkook heard yoongi's voice but he can't register his face.

"h-hyung" jungkook tried to say, his voice barely leaving his throat.

"Hy bun yes it's me. wake up"  he heard yoongi's voice again but still, all he could see was pitch-black darkness. he felt like he was drowning, yoongi's voice being his only anchor and then it was gone. silence rang like a bell in his ears, the darkness swallowing him whole.

"jungkook wake up" someone was slapping his cheeks lightly to bring him back to consciousness. he opened his eyes and saw taehyung kneeling beside him with a look of worry on his face. he looked around him but there was no trace of yoongi just a bunch of students gathered around them.

"what are you all looking at? get lost" tae yelled at the people crowding them. they whispered among themselves and left, leaving jungkook and tae alone in a long corridor.

"tae hyung" he whispered, trying to get up but his body was too weak. he fell but tae caught him.

"Hy Hy take it easy," tae said helping him stand up. he took him to the bench nearby and made him sit, handing him a bottle of water. they both stayed silent as jungkook drowned the bottle.

"jungkook what happened?" tae asked after a moment of silence.

"nothing hyung," jungkook said and tae was not in the mood to hear his bullshit. he grabbed jungkook's hand and dragged him to the nearest classroom.

"don't tell me it's nothing jungkook. I could see the blood on your shirt" tae said pointing at the blood stains on jungkook's shirt.

"I got into a fight," jungkook said looking at his shoes.

"with whom?" tae demanded.

"hoseok" jungkook said.

"yoongi's friend hoseok?" tae asked.

"yes"

"but why?"

"It's nothing tae it was just a small fight," jungkook said annoyed.

"It's not nothing kook. you're bleeding" tae said. jungkook could see how angry tae was.

"I'm fine tae just go away" jungkook turns around.

"excuse me?"

"Just leave me alone tae I'm not a kid. I can take care of myself." jungkook yelled at tae. tae was taken aback by his rudeness.

"jungkook I'm sorry," tae said approaching the younger but jungkook stopped him.

"no, just leave tae," jungkook said looking away from his best friend. tae sighed and decided it was better to leave jungkook alone for the moment. he walked toward the door and stopped once he reached it. he turned around once again to look at jungkook.

"kook?" he called which made jungkook turn back to look at him.

"Where is your rubber band?" tae asked but jungkook didn't answer. he just looked down and tae got his answer. there were tears in his eyes now.

"W-why?" he asked, his voice breaking. jungkook looked up at him.

"I'm sorry hyung. just go please" jungkook said his voice trembling. tae left leaving jungkook once again alone.

jungkook got home but no one was at home. he was alone.  he walked straight to his room and locked himself in the bathroom. he pulled his shirt off and threw it on the floor. he stared at himself in the mirror, tears starting to fill his eyes. he could see the dried blood surrounding his scars and the purple bruises where hoseok kicked him.
