Chapter 16

As days passed, jungkook became increasingly distant from people around him. he ignored yoongi even when the older tried to approach him. tae and jimin tried to talk to him, but he blocked them too. his mind told him things that he knew were not true but it was better than believing that he had lost both his love and his best friends. 

yes, his love. staying away from yoongi made him realize how much he liked yoongi's company. even when they didn't do anything, just his presence was calming for jungkook, and how peacefully he slept in yoongi's embrace. it was enough for jungkook to realize that he is in love with yoongi. he has been in love with yoongi for a while now, but it only served as another reason for jungkook to ignore yoongi. he thought if he stayed away from yoongi, his feelings will die, but still, whenever he saw yoongi with his friends especially hoseok, it made his chest hurt. yoongi would look at him too in the corridor or the canteen but he will look away every time.

jungkook went to school every day but stayed away from tae and jimin. after their fight tae tried to talk to him in school but he just walked away. and now he just watches them from afar. one-day jimin yelled at him for how much he was hurting tae by ignoring him. he didn't say anything just said sorry and walked away. that day he cried himself to sleep again thinking about how much his friend was suffering because of him. but still, his mind convinced him that it was for the best.

yoongi watched jungkook. even when the younger was not looking at him, even when he didn't know about his presence, he watched him. he never let him out of his sight. he also noticed how thin jungkook had become and how dull his eyes looked. he brought jungkook dinner every night but the younger didn't even look at him. he was always busy in his notebook, writing, which yoongi gathered were song lyrics. jungkook's mother contacted yoongi when jungkook refused to pick up her calls. she told him how much she missed her son and wished that he could come and meet her. but yoongi knew better. he knows what it would mean for jungkook to go to his house so he told her that he'll talk to jungkook but can't promise anything. he never told jungkook about the phone call. he missed jungkook so much but he know that younger was suffering but he didn't know what to do or how to help him. so he stayed away and watched over him from afar.

One day when jungkook was on his way to class, someone grabbed his arms and pushed him against the wall. when he looked up he saw jung hoseok standing in front of him.

"what the fuck do you want now hoseok?" jungkook asked him.

"what do I want? I told you to stay away from yoongi didn't I?" hoseok said grabbing jungkook's jaw harshly.

"And I am staying away from him. what are you talking about?" jungkook pushed him away making him stumble.

"then why does he still look for you all time?" hoseok yelled at him which made him flinch. 

"I don't know what you're talking about. he is your friend why don't you go and ask him and leave me the fuck alone," jungkook said with a stern voice. hoseok smirked and walked toward him.

"aren't you a little feisty thing huh? are you this feisty in bed too? oh, I could ask yoongi hyung shouldn't I? I bet he used you too like one of his sluts" hoseok said with a smirk and it was enough for jungkook. before he could stop himself, he punched hoseok hard, making him fall on the floor. he didn't give him any chance to say anything. he got on top of him and punched him repeatedly. 

he didn't stop till he was bleeding. people gathered around them but jungkook didn't care. he had so much anger that he couldn't stop himself. it was till he felt someone grab his shoulder from behind. their voice was muffled but jungkook knew who it was. before he could stop himself, his elbow hit the person behind him and he fell to the ground with a loud thud. jungkook panicked and got up. he looked behind and saw yoongi, on the floor, looking at him with a painful and horrid expression. he looked at hoseok laying on the floor covered in his blood and that's when he realized what he did. his breathing became hard and his chest became tight. he stared at yoongi, with wide eyes.
