Chapter 23

when they reached home, jungkook carried the asleep boy to their room. luckily his parents were not home. he carried yoongi to his bedroom and laid him there. he sat there beside him looking at Older's peaceful face. his eyes traveled to yoongi's hand, at the purple bruise that was still fresh, crowning his wrist where hoseok held him. he traced his finger to the purple lining trying to absorb the pain from them. 

"k-koo" jungkook heard yoongi's small voice. he looked up and noticed that yoongi was still asleep. he stirred in his sleep searching for the warmth in which he had spent all his past days.

"I am here baby," jungkook said and got into bed beside yoongi. when yoongi found jungkook's arms, a small smile formed on his face and it broke jungkook's heart because he knows that no matter how peaceful he is right now when he'll wake up, all the hurt and memories will return. he wrapped his arms around yoongi and pulled him closer till yoongi's head was resting under his chin. yoongi let out a sigh and snuggled into jungkook's chest.

"I am here yoongi I am here," jungkook said and kissed the top of yoongi's head.

after an hour or two, jungkook felt yoongi moving beside him. he opened his eyes and saw him anxiously fidgeting.

"get away from me hoseok," yoongi said in his sleep trying to fight the imaginary hands holding him. jungkook quickly gathered that yoongi was having a nightmare. he woke up and turned on the lights. he saw tears falling from yoongi's closed eyes. jungkook wasted no time and wrapped his arms around yoongi, trying to calm him down.

"shh it's me jungkook you're okay no one is hurting you," jungkook said rubbing yoongi's back, trying to make his fidgeting body calm down.

"go away hobi go away I hate you" yoongi cried his voice muffled in jungkook's chest and his whole body shaking.

"you're okay baby you're okay. I have you" jungkook said hugging him tight. yoongi began to calm down. his body stopped trembling. the whole room got silent only the sound of yoongi sniffing was audible. jungkook held him close.

"I am sorry," yoongi said, his voice small in jungkook's embrace. 

"you awake hyung?" yoongi asked not expecting yoongi to be awake. he thought he went back to sleep. yoongi nodded. jungkook looked down and saw yoongi's tear-stained face resting on his chest. he reached his hand to cup yoongi's cheeks and caressed them softly.

"Hy," he said softly looking at yoongi with a tender expression. yoongi opened his eyes and his eyes met jungkook's.

"Are you okay now?" jungkook asks his voice trembling because he knew how stupid that question sounded. of course, yoongi is not okay and hates himself because he doesn't know what to do. yoongi shook his head, new tears forming in his eyes. jungkook sniffed and nodded.

"what can I do to make you feel okay hyung? I'll do anything tell me" jungkook said wiping yoongi's tears with his voice shaking. yoongi didn't say anything for a moment, he just stared at jungkook. he saw in jungkook's eyes the same pain he was feeling. he noticed that jungkook was hurting just as much as he was.

"I can still feel his hands on my body koo. everywhere. his lips on my- "Yoongi said as a choke broke from his throat. jungkook listened to him the same anger building in him again

"please wipe them away koo. I feel disgusting. it feels like my body is burning." yoongi looked at jungkook with pleading eyes. this was the moment jungkook realized that he would do anything for this man. he would even kill someone if he had to. but right now, he needs to stay strong for yoongi to lean against him.

"Okay okay, this is what we're gonna do. I am going to go prepare you a bath after that you will eat something and then we will sleep away all the bad memories." jungkook said wiping his tears and smiling at yoongi.  yoongi knows jungkook was trying his hardest to make sure that he was okay so he just nodded, letting jungkook do whatever he wanted to do.
