FIFA Best Player Ceremony

I sat in the front row next to my husband waiting for the winner to be called out. I could feel his leg shaking with anticipation next to me. I placed my hand over to his knee and smiled back at him.

"Lionel Messi!"

My husband broke into a huge grin and let out a breath of relief. He leaned over and gave me a kiss.

"Go get it mi amor" I whispered pride filling my lungs. I watched him walk onto the stage and receive his award. I clapped loudly along with the rest of the audience. I sat back relaxed as he gave his speech. I could tell that even after years of doing them, giving speeches in front of a large crowd made him nervous but he hid it well.

I smiled at him the whole time and saw his eyes dart over to me every so often in which case I gave him a small thumbs up. I smiled with pride when he spoke of his team and coach. When he spoke of achieving his dream after fighting for it for so long, I could see the true happiness shining in his eyes. I smiled wider when he thanked his family and told our sons he loved them. I laughed quietly to myself when he told them to go to bed. Even though we both knew that they would try to stay up to congratulate their dad on his win the minute we walked through the door but would ultimately end up falling asleep on the couch.

As soon as we got a moment alone, I pulled him into a deep kiss which he returned.

"Words can't describe how proud I am of you. Not just about what you do on the pitch but of it. You are an amazing father to our children and I couldn't be happier to call you my husband."

"Thank you for always staying by my side, even when I pushed you away"

"Always" I smiled at him before turning it into a smirk, "But you do know our kids are going to fall asleep on the couch right?"

"Of course they are"

We took a selfie with the award before kissing again and going off to join the others and let them congratulate my husband themselves.

Note: I only did Messi for this one as I wasn't sure what to write for the others other than what I would imagine their feeling to be and it wouldn't have been very long.
