Your phone lights up for the fourth time, but you refuse to look at it. Already knowing it's Sunwoo, you sink further into your couch, hoping it'll swallow you whole. He's been calling and texting you nonstop for the last hour, and you know he has zero intentions of stopping anytime soon. The man is on a mission, and you know how laser-focused he gets when he's like this.
Groaning in frustration, you grab the throw blanket on the back of the couch and pull it over your head. You're such an idiot. Why on earth did you tell that girl you and Sunwoo are dating? What evil being possessed you to do such a stupid thing? You kick your feet the more you think about it.
It was Iike the second you saw her, your mind went territorial. You thought about their date that's taking place tomorrow night, and then like a dog, you pissed all over your territory. You whine and kick your feet again until a knocking on your door registers.
Your entire being freezes as you run through all the possibilities of who it could be, but it's useless. You know exactly who it is, and you should've known this was going to be the conclusion. Sunwoo is only going to take you ignoring him for so long.
"I know you're in there," he calls through the door before knocking again.
Calculating the odds of how long he'll be willing to bang on your door, you curl yourself under the blanket and decide to wait him out. The plan is perfect until you hear a key slide into the lock and all of your internal alarms go off.
You gave him your second key! How the hell could you forget giving your best friend the other key to your apartment? The key word here being best friend.
When the door opens and you hear Sunwoo enter your apartment, you lay as still as possible. It makes no sense, and you know you're going to be caught, but at least you'll have a couple more seconds of peace.
"You know I can see you, right?" He asks before sighing and calling your name when you don't respond.
His footsteps creak around your apartment until they stop directly in front of you. You hold your breath, wondering how long he'll wait. You quickly find out the answer is not long at all.
The blanket slowly peels back from your face and you glance up to see Sunwoo looking down at you in amusement. "Are you really hiding under a blanket right now?"
"...No?"
A small puff of air hits your face when Sunwoo laughs, and he kneels down to be at your level. "No? You're just under this blanket when it's hot as hell in this apartment because you feel like it?"
"Yes?"
He shakes his head. "Did you tell the person I was gonna go out with that we're dating?"
You nibble on your bottom lip. "Did she say I did?" When he gives you an unamused look, you concede. "Okay. Also, yes."
He sighs and studies your face. "Is there any reason in particular? Do you not like her?"
It's your turn to carefully study his face. He knows you wouldn't do something like this for the hell of it. When you see nothing but openness and curiosity, you decide now is the time. Now is the time to tell Sunwoo about your crush on him. You just hope he takes it well.
"No. It's not her that I like."
Sunwoo's eyes widen fractionally, roving over your entire face and searching for any sign of deception. When he finds nothing but sincerity in your gaze, a wondrous smile takes over his lips.
"Is this for real?" He reaches up to gently push your hair back from your face, and you nod. "You have no idea how long I've waited to hear that."
